Camara starts off with back to back 3’s
Avdija & Camara both red hot to start, POR up by 10, 4-4 3pt
Deni with a nice drive on SGA for score, sure seems to be continuing to get better as the year goes on
Scoot with a 3, then hits a deep 2
Nice spin move by Scoot, just left it a little short.
Avdija is giving OKC all sorts of problems in the interior, 12 of POR 24pts
Sharpe needs to work on his dribbling. He really tends to lose the ball a lot when he’s driving under defensive pressure
Scoot hits his 2nd 3, if he can just get more consistent with that shot, defenders are not going to be able to go under the screen

What is this lineup with no Center...crazy.

DC with a block on Joe’s 3pt attempt
POR shooting 52%, 44% 3pt and down by 10
That was a great passing sequence by OKC. I don’t know how Williams saw Dieng there
Deni scored 12pts in the 1Q and then they totally forgot about him
That was a really nice reverse by Camara
DC block and then another 3 from Deni, 3-6 for the night so far
Great pass into the interior by Avdija, Grant can’t convert though
Simons offers no resistance on that fast break, easy OKC score
Not sure I like this small ball lineup that Billups is ending the 2Q with

OKC is so good at team defense. They really understand passing lanes based on the Blazer meh offense. They are also doing a great job limiting offensive rebounds.

Steady diet of shooting and post up moves is what Clingan needs to work on in the off-season
Camara 3, 4-4 3pt, that is a nice drive down the paint for a score
This is the Deni and Camara show today, 40 of 65 points for POR, no other Blazer is in double digits
Deni looks funny when he feels like a call was missed when he flaps his arms and jumps up and down
Camara 5th 3, having himself a shooting night
There’s a book getting out on Sharpe, put pressure on his dribble, and let him take the 3
Scoot 3, 3-6 on the night, now 3-7

Great deny on the back door by RW3
So, it is all the young guys that are contributing in this game, against one of the best teams in the NBA, so the question is:
Does the young guys playing well make it more likely that Cronin trades some of the vets, or less likely?
I guess it all boils down to, how delusional you think Cronin is?
Every time RW3 hits the floor, I wince, just hoping he doesn’t get hurt
Caruso has been awful this year, I cannot believe OKC re-signed him for the amount that they did
OKC just has multiple dudes that can hit 3pt shots, and I think POR defense has been tough tonight, and what is the one thing that POR is lacking severely in? Shooting
Camara just got a taste of his own medicine, commits an offensive foul
Scoot took on Jaylin Williams drew the foul and got the better of the physical exchange
Caruso finally hits a 3, he has missed so many shots badly tonight though, yikes
And then Scoot answers with a 3, up to 35%
Scoot with another 3, POR shooting 46% 3pt & Simons\Grant are 1/6
That was a crazy shot by Joe, wow
You see, for all the fans out there, and Cronin, who look at a game like this and say hey they are close, no, they are not, they don’t have an SGA, and until you get one of those this team is going nowhere, this is why you tank, this is why losing is so important even if it seems counterproductive
Keep accumulating assets keep drafting players, until you get that guy, or you have enough assets that you can trade for that guy
As Calabro said on the broadcast when referring to SGA, “there is their alpha”

Yep, not a bad base - now with a bit of luck the ping pong balls bail us out.

So, just throwing this out there, is Scoot more of a concern? Or Sharpe?
For the record, I think neither, I think this is just how it is with young players, more or less.
Many just willing to give up on Scoot, and now people piling on Sharpe, to me if there was one to be slightly more concerned with it might be Sharpe, after t
3 years, you should get a good idea of what players are like, however, he’s only 21

Billups asked about Simons off night, turns it around and says he actually had a very good night and that he is a big reason why POR played so well
Says that OKC blitzed him all the night & double teamed him all night.
First off they did try to deny him all the time, that’s just good defense, reading the scouting report.
I don’t recall seeing a lot of double teaming on him, however, if he is “the guy” just like SGA is for OKC, then he needs to be good enough to overcome that, which clearly he is not.
What an utter load of crap from Billups. He talks about Simons assists, What? He had 3?
Personally, I think the delusion in the front office runs from the top to bottom

I see Grant is plummeting his trade value once again
