I wouldn’t discount Max Christie either, he was really coming on this year, good young player, the 29 pick? Who knows, I’m a little surprised they didn’t get both 1st’s, but I agree with you. I think the AD fit in DAL could work out

Doncic was worth more being 5 years younger. I do think it's possible La got worse but if I were in their shoes I wouldn't turn down a franchise player moving forward with lebron at 40 and no foreseeable way to build the roster through the draft

Under no circumstances is this a good deal for Dallas. They didn't shop Doncic, seemingly went to the Lakers and offered this trade without shopping around first, and dealt away a young superstar for a guy who is oft injured and at or near decline. Sure they got a piece and a pick as well but if I'm a Dallas fan I'm raging right now. Dallas could have gotten the best pick package in the history of the nba or some combo of building blocks and picks. Utah, SA, OKC, and probably many other teams including Portland could have produced a superior package

It'll be interesting to see if the Mavs will proven correct that Luka is not a franchise
building block. Most view that as dubious but we'll find out soon enough if Lebron now
leaves in free agency and the Laker pivot to Luka.

At least with this type of move getting done, there is hope the Blazers can get something
worthwhile for their vet players.

Utah gets 4 picks for Gobert and Dallas only gets 1 pick for Doncic?

Trades like this to the Lakers make the NBA less fun.
