First game of the season. First time at Target Center. Minnesota playing at half speed.

Ayton with a lousy minus 3 for the half, rob +16 in limited mins otoh... also on the season Rob has a ws/48 about 1.5 x aytons. Clingan otoh is about the same as ayton currently. He's had a good stretch the last 10 games but in the big picture ayton has been pretty mediocre as a whole
Breaks my heart that Rob has so many injuries. If that wasn't the case every time I'd pick him over ayton for center and run clingan behind him.

We played a fairly easy stretch, Only played 3 out of the last 10 on the road and 7 straight at home before the start of this road trip. This feels like a reality check but I sort of expected it especially given we will play 11 of our next 14 on the road.
I have to think this will be the stretch where we finally give up our playoff dreams, commit to the tank and hopefully move up the lotto positioning at least a bit

Terrible shooting night. What a collapse. Scoot, Murray and RW3 were the only players with more points than shots.

Glad to see my “crapballs” comment about another win was not necessary … and maybe Deni needs a bit of time off with the break.
Absolutely love his game though his handle could be tighter when he goes turbo in a crowd.

All that matters to me is that Scoot and Sharpe had reasonable games on low minutes.
Simons, Grant and Ayton are not winners...you can play them a million minutes and give them a million shots and they aren't going to win you anything. Such a shame that Cronin seems hellbent on structuring around and celebrating losing players.
I look forward to tracking Scoot, Deni, Sharpe and Clingan's progress the rest of the season.
Blazers already shot themselves in the a$$ by not tanking through the easiest part of their schedule, so the lottoball race is over--no point in getting hyper vigilant about that.
