I really hope they get a deal done to show the channel on Directv before the season's over. I've really missed a lot having to listen on the radio during the recent success. Oh, well, at least the Blazers actually have some games on ESPN and TNT this year.

Sorry about that, i wish thats what it really was!

If Direct TVs negotiating abilities resemble anything that of their customer service department, it's going to be a long wait.

We signed up about a month ago, and although we didn't initially get it - are now receiving CSN on CH# 66 (by memory, away from the TV).

Probably not that many people are on FIOS, but it may be a ray of hope for others outside of the Comcast monopoly that some are successfully brokering deals.

Is FiOS TV available wherever FiOS cable internet is?

In most of the areas where they already have fiber run for internet it should be. And if not yet, it will be soon.

No, they both run over the same line, so if they don't have the fiber optics pull through your neighborhood then the answer is no. Tigard, Forest Grove, Hillsboro, Beaverton, Newberg, and a few other places have FiOS already and I have not heard of Verizon planning on expanding their lines anywhere else yet. Which is a real bummer because FiOS would be a great alternative to Qwest or Comcast here in PDX.

Also, FiOS Internet is available in Gresham, too (but I don't know about FiOS TV). Why not in Portland is anybody's guess. I blame Comcast.

Oh lol I read that inverted, I read it as is it available where it is not. Yeah the answer should be yes then, I am not really sure of the FiOS tv thing, I was much more interested in the internet when I was reading about it. As for it being in Portland, from what I remember Verizon spent a crap ton of money stringing the fiber all across Washington county as a test market. I believe eventually they will bring it to Portland, but who knows.

And then they just skipped over Portland and went to Gresham? ARGH

Imagine the screaming for the fans if this is still going on in
November when Oden and Rudi are playing for us..

I put the blame on the Blazers for they had a deal with FSN and
should have known what they would getting into with Comcast
in a new deal. Now they are a bargaining chip in a much bigger
impasse between Cable and Satellite providers who don't care
about the local fans.

Thats partly true and partly not, The Blazers wanted a ton of money for their TV deal this time around as they knew it was worth a lot more then it used to be. FSN backed out of the deal when The Blazers were demanding something like five times as much money for thew new deal, FSN stalled and Comcast came in and made a bid for it so the Blazers took it. FSN made no counter offer so FSN failed out and Comcast now has the Blazers as their bargaining chip rather then FSN, sucks for us but it is just business after all .

Verizon fios will only go where they have the local phone service. Multnomah Co is Quest territory so... They have said that they plan to offer fios/internet to everyone in their metropolitan territory, as they build out the fiber lines.

I live at the bottom of the West Slope area in Raleigh Hills. I have Verizon phone service but they have not run fiber in my neighborhood yet. After much digging around I finally found a local Verizon engineer who had access to their build out plans and he told me it would likely be mid year before they get to my area. If the fiber is already run in your neighborhood, you already have access to fios or you should very soon.
