OT: Theo Ratliff is being bought out

Post#1 » by swede » Mon Jan 21, 2008 8:46 am

Remember when our highlights of a ten point deficit at half on a Tuesday was Theo Ratiff's two or three blocks? Evidently he is going to try to head to a contender.. ala Boston, Clev.. I think he is done but what do I know. Man I hate to think about the team we used to talk about. If anyone wants to know half of pain go really, really far into the history on this forum (Pages 230-244) but in reality that was a midway point between even more horrors the years before.

It makes no sense for him to be bought out though, I don't think our owner(Taylor) is willing to spend that much money now, when he can just let him expire this season.

They could potentially save some money, but Ratliff would have to leave it on the table.

The Wolves are extremely close to the luxury threshold, so I would not be surprised if they do not try and get under. Theo will use it as an audition, but think he should retire.

Theo showed in a few early games that he'd be a better minimum contract option for a team down the stretch than going after some D-League scrub like Schenscher.
