honestly.. what would you trade for tyrus thomas?
i know i know.. the blazers fans will be quick to say NOTHING WE won the trade with chicago, tyrus sucks, blah blah blah.. But i think the informed fan, which i think most of the blazers fans are (from reading this board) are fairly good posters..
I think the bulls need a slasher type of SG or a back to the basket scorer..
I am thinking that Martell Webster/Travis Outlaw would have to be in the deal.. Martell might answer their need for a big guard and maybe adding sergio/frye might sweeten the deal.. How far would you guys go to acquire him? The 'bad attitude' thing is overblowned and he is very well liked by teammates, so he would fit with the culture in Portland.
Let me know what you think

Thomas doesn't really fill any needs. He'd be going 1v1 against McRoberts in practice all day like Darius.

Would you trade Deng/Thomas for Aldridge/Outlaw or Webster?
I think that this type of deal would make a great deal of sense for both teams.. Deng would be great for the blazers and Thomas would be a freak next to Oden.. And Webster or outlaw give the bulls the big guard they really have wanted for the last year..Also Aldridge would fit the back to the basket scorer they have wanted.. It also gives the team more flexibility and more of an identity.. I have a thing on the trade board, and i am wondering your thoughts?

I think he will develop with time, but do not think TT's personality would mesh with this team. Would rather keep the peace with the current crew.

Take LA out of any deal.

I would take a chance on Tyrus. He has looked like crap this season, but does anyone remember him in the playoffs? The kid was blocking everything in sight. He could develop into a very good defensive role player off the bench. A change of scenery and atmosphere could do him a world of good.

And I would NOT include Travis in any deal at this point in time.

You got that right....Outlaws value should be higher then LMA right now....

Wow. That trade idea you posted in the Chicago forum is horrific!
LMA is one of the untouchables on our team.

My question is why would Portland trade for Thomas? He's talented sure, but if he's not coming cheap why would Portland make the move?
Martell is a starter and has played pretty darn well IMO. Travis is way to valuable to even consider moving for Thomas.
Statistically Frye is just as good an option (actually a little better) than Thomas. I know Thomas has a lot higher ceiling, but I'm not willing to mess with the chemistry to bring in a guy like him.

Deng would be a great target for Portland, but not for Aldridge. Let Portland throw some combination of Outlaw, their pick, Webster, and/or Frye for Deng. Hopefully that'd be enough, if not... oh well!!

We already have a better version of Thomas...

I would give Channing Frye straight up and I think thats a more than fair offer.

Perhaps a better question would be is there any player on the Bulls that the Blazers would interested in?
Thomas would have to be a secondary player of any deal. Including him with Deng or Gordon or Hinrich might garner some interest. But given how well the chemistry with this team is, no deal is likely until the off-season. I'm not sure the Bulls and Blazers are good trading partners at this point.
I see our needs being a physical, defensive, rebounder who can play with Oden and LMA and a complimentary guard to Roy who can defend quicker guards and run the fast break.
Consider the big three as untouchable. Plus, Outlaw is probably in the category of worth more to us than he would be to you.
Personally, I would hate to move either Webster or Sergio but I trust KP's opinion if he felt that what we received in return for them is in fact is better for the team.

+1
Tyrus if you all remember wasnt much liked
here when he was brought in for the workouts
before draft. The local media thought of him
as rude & stuck up. Personality is key here.. .
As far as talent wise, Outlaw right now is far
better then Tyrus. Webster has problems with
being consistent, but his outside shot has big
time value on the Blazers right now. It would
be a tough sell alone to trade Tyrus for Webster.
Tyrus does bring some rebounding & scrap to the
table which the Blazers do need, however I dont
think its enough to trade anyone away for.. .

Portland probably has no need for TT but would love to have
Deng. Martell + Sergio for Deng works under the trade checker

There is no way in hell I'd trade Outlaw, Webster, or Channing for TT straight up right now. If he can't get off the bench on a below mediocre Chicago team, where will he play in Portland? He's certainly not getting any of Travis' minutes at PF. Not Martell or JJ's at SF. He can't play C instead of Frye.

I was never interested in TT (I remember getting in arguments a few years back about him, saying that he was way raw, that he would take years to pan out, and that you always avoid players who come out of the blue during the tournament), and I'm still not. The only way I trade for him is if I need to trade him again to get someone else.
