I'll be happy if the game goes either way. Either team losing makes me happy. The only sucky part is one team has to win
With that said, I am pulling for Denver just because I am loving how Marcus Camby is playing, the dude is one of the few Nuggets players I can stand.
Sorry to go a little bit off topic, but is anybody else irritated at the fact that Kobe can violently swing his arm at officials after he disagrees with a call and not get T'd up? He's done it at least twice this game. Any other player would have been ejected already. Just goes to show you how lame the NBA still is. Oh yeah, plus, even though Kobe is in foul trouble in the 3rd quarter it's okay to keep him in because the refs won't possibly let him get his fifth foul. Can't wait to see all the blatant pro-Laker calls when we play them. The Blazers' awesome season makes me love the NBA this year, but thinking about how much crap the Lakers get away with (just because they are the Lakers) makes me hate the NBA at the same time.

Yea, Camby is the only Nugget I like that I can
think of off the top of my head at this time.. .
Great rebounder & shotblocker, runs the court
very well & he has a awesome 16 foot jumper!!
With the Kobe deal, yea the NBA is full of double
standards.. .from how some players are treated
to the consistency of the rules on any given night.
Now the consistency of rules, I can see how that
may be a little different just because not all refs
are the same in viewing actions.. .HOWEVER the
double standard on how some players are treated
is just crazy. Kobe & others like him can get away
with so much crap its not even funny. A really good
example of this is Iverson & body contact. He creates
contact to draw the foul, which when other players do
the exact same thing in the exact same game called
by the exact same refs, the foul isnt called and many
times its called a offensive foul. They say the NBA refs
have the hardest job out of all the pro sports refs but
they also do the worst job in calling a fair game.. .
Some refs do a great job but those refs are few.

LOL I knew what this thread was about before I opened it. But, yea, I'm with you Odd. The Lakers are going to have plenty of losing to do when they embark on their 9 game road trip. Right now I'd much rather have Denver lose than the Lakers lose simply because it breaks the virtual tie for first and puts us back at the top of the NW. As it stands, LA is 3rd in the West, but after their road trip, they could quite possibly be sitting in 5th or 6th and we have a good chance of leap frogging them as we are about to come back home for a few games. There. i have officially rationalized a scenario where it is perfectly acceptable to root for the Lakers.

If we're going to win the division, I'd rather earn it than have the Lakers back our opponents out. In fact, I'd rather lose the division if it meant the Lakers had one more in the win column. Think of it this way--we always seem destined to meet the Lakers in the playoffs, but if they win against Denver, we'll meet them without the home court advantage. That would be the worst thing I can imagine. If I had a daughter, I think I'd rather have her babysit for Ruben Patterson than to root for the Lakers.

If Denver lost, they didn't earn the win. If the Blazers win, they earned the win. The only way to get it is to earn it. Either that or you played Minnesota.

I am surprisingly not feeling too dirty about rooting hard for an LA win just because it put my Blazers back atop the NW Division! I don't like LA at all but Kobe is making is making it hard to dislike him so much with all his passing. It also has to do with them not being in our division for a while either and not being that great for a while. I really can't stand Melo and Denver so that made it easier. I was really pushing for LA so glad they won and being 4th in the payoffs seeding feels GRRRRRRRREAT!
