I love how Bucher brought it up and the entire panel thought it would be a bad move.

Would LAC even accept this? They have Kaman who is grabbing 13 or 14 per game isn't he?

Why trade our starting center? The only way I can see KP doing this is for cap space, Sam is an expiring contract.

That makes no sense for either team. Bucher can make up better trade rumors then that.

Hahaha, trade the only bigman that can rebound and not
get bullied on our team.. .Sam would be fun but no way
does this trade happen unless its for a greater reason.

You know tho, this Blazers team is a lot closer
to "being there" then a lot of people thought
including KP. Maybe he wants Sam's contract
to go out & grab a FA that can help before '09.

This would explain maybe why Przy isnt played
at the end of games, seeing if the team can win
without him around?? I dunno, maybe a reach.. .

I could see this having some legs.. 1. Buchers usually pretty right on with his rumors, and 2. It makes a lot of sense for us besides the obvious major lack of rebounding. Move LMA to Center for the remainder of the year, and move Outlaw into the starting PF spot. Joel's minutes have been spiraling down rather quickly and he has a fairly big contract. If its clear that Miles wont be able to be moved and we're clearly looking to get further under the cap this could work. Cassell could also be a very good veteran to put aside Brandon. If Miles does indeed come back, which I know most in here pray he doesnt, I could see this being part of the reason as well.

Cassell/ Blake/ Sergio
Roy/ Jack/ Green
Webster/ Jones
Outlaw/ Miles/ McRoberts
LMA/ Frye/ Raef

We'd be playing a more controlled version of Nellie ball, but I wouldnt be too against it. I like what Joel brings to the table but it seems pretty clear that hes not going to get a lot of minutes here.

On the other hand. Why the hell does LAC do this??

I would really hate to dump Joel, his contract is really reasonable considering the going rate of decent bigmen. At current he is the only blazer am confident in his defensive rebounding and help D (for bigs). :-?

The Pryz is way to valuable to this team right now to trade him for Cassell..He won't be traded until Oden is on the court..Enough said.....

Great points!! The last one being the biggest.. .
My only thought would be theres more to this
trade asfar as what the Clippers would get,
but I cant see who that would be. I dont
think Pritchard would mess with the
team to much, it would be risky.
But if the risk is worth the
reward KP has in mind
then who knows!!

Whatever happens, Przy is a great guy
and if he were to be traded he would
be missed. But the NBA is a business.

Sources close to the Pup denied this with extreme laughter. However, sources close to the Pup also indicated that teams are inquiring of individual players and that KP will need to make some moves to clear roster spots for G.O., Rudy and at least one draft pick. That means more players going out than coming in.

There was a serious doubt as to whether Joel would be included. He is the only toughness on the roster and even with Oden coming, you don't want an inexperienced 20 year old prone to foul trouble to be you're only physical presence. Adding Sam-I-Am would also glut an already crowded PG rotation.

Most likely nothing done before the deadline unless it is a "too sweet to ignore" deal. This isn't it...no
'shorts' here. :P

They should only need to make room for Rudy and the draft pick though, right? Oden is already currently taking up a roster spot.

There is NO CHANCE we trade our only center for yet another PG. Why would we ruin what's becoming a magical season?

That line-up you posted Fitz is flat out awful. We'd get absolutely abused in the paint and our backcourt chemistry and rotation would be destroyed.

If anything it makes more sense for the Clippers then us since their season is going down the toilet anyway and Joel would give them nice depth at center for next year when Brand is back and healthy. Depth at center is something you cant have too much of and is exactly why we would never do this deal.

I also bet that Sam I Am isnt the best locker room guy on losing teams. He seems like one of those guys that can be a good leader on a winning team if he's playing but I thought I remember him sulking in Minnesota when they started losing. I dont think he would be very happy sharing time with our plethora of PG's.

Trading Joel and sending Blake to the bench right now would be an awesome way to lose this team.

This is flat out ridiculous. The Blazers biggest problem right now is a lack of an interior presence and interior defense and too many PG's. NO WAY they compound that problem by bringing in an over the hill loud mouth who would likely wreck the team chemistry.

It would be completely DUMB to move Pryz before they know what Oden's long term recovery will be.

The only reason to move Pryz is if they can package Miles and/or move up significantly in the draft.

Its nearly the same lineup that we use throughout the game and the front court is what we always use in the 4th quarter. Joel only plays 17 minutes!! You think he has that much impact on the game? Hell, Sergio almost plays as much as joel.. Im not saying its a great trade or anything, but I could see us going with that lineup. We almost do now

I'd love to have sammy on the team, that would raise our trash talking quota by at least another 75.364% ....but for joel nuhuh, for jack.... :)
