On the wiretap, it mentions that the Nets are have included Magloire in trade talks with the Bulls. According to Hoopshype, Magloire only has a 1 year deal with the Nets. He was a pretty decent low post player while he was here. Would be be a good low post presence while the Blazers are waiting for Oden?

Probably, but who would you want to give up to get him?

I don't want magloire anywhere near this team. He's always been overrated and is extremely boring to watch. On offense, he took up the entire shot clock to get a shot up and on defense, while he was decent, it wasn't good enough to offset his offense. Also, as farzi said, there's no one on this team worth parting with for him. McBob or Green wouldn't be huge losses but I'd take my chances on them over getting magloire back.

I'd like him to come here but i think the price would be too steep.

Dude, we were willing to trade Ha to get Mags in the first place. Do we have anyone on this team whose value is equal to Ha?!

Maybe if we did some combination of Roy, Oden, and Aldridge...

But why trade for Mags when we can just trade for Ha? Where the hell is he anyway?[/i]

New Jersey's willingness to trade JM when they need inside help speaks volumes. Not for sure I could take even a half season of watching him play in slow motion.

That's definitely Steve Patterson's worst trade. It's nice to have blake back and thankfully, we don't have a GM that would trade him away for a mediocre center any more.

As much as I respect his professionalism while in Portland and feel NJ hasn't given him a chance, he is way too slow up and down the court and he is more of a black hole than Zach was(once the ball goes to him it never comes back out)

This isn't the place for him

If Portland had a free roster spot and a trade exception I'd say go for it. But having to actually give up something potentially useful for him to me is out of the question.

What? You wouldn't give up young talent just so you could see night-after-night that Frankensten-like low post game and those "cover the eyes" dunks???? Billy, I think that makes you a communist or something :D

A mediocre PG for a mediocre C sounds like a decent deal. The question to answer is what do we need more, a mediocre PG or a mediocre C. We already have a mediocre C that plays about 20 minutes and Nate plays small lineups the majority of the game and the 4th quarter. How would that change if we had Mags? Probably not much, so if you trade for a mediocre C like Mags it would be for a more favorable contract. Right now Mags has a more favorable contract than Joel or Blake, especially Joel.

Wasn't he an all-star? Sign me up!

I love how that always seems to come up when a team lands Chocolate Ha, "Hey fans, lets hear a warm welcome for former all-star Jamaal Magloire!"

Fans: "Oooh, ahhh!" ... "Oh my god, can he even dunk?"

He was an all-star in the East, which is kind of like being the best napper in kindergarten. Sure, it's an accomplishment, but it's not much of an accomplishment.
