Game 43- Houston at Portland

Post#1 » by Village Idiot » Fri Jan 25, 2008 5:20 pm

Doesn't look like Dak is going to make a thead on time so I'll do my best:

Houston 23-19 and have won 8 of their last 10

at

Portland 25-17

T-Mac will be coming off the bench.

I have a bad feeling about this game. Houston has slowed us defensively in recent matchups and really seems to give us trouble. I hope I'm wrong but I could see Houston winning this one.

For me, the key to this game is where Portland muscles up Yao on the post for defense. If they can keep him from getting the ball in the low post, that will give the weak side time to come over and help.

If we see Yao getting the ball inside of 6-8 feet to the rim, it's going to be a bad night for the Blazers.

If Hayes is guarding LaMarcus, he should have a big game. 5 inch height advantage. Starting lineup matchups should be fun to watch. Portland bench has to play better than last game.

T-Mac and Aaron Brooks were in attendance at the Duck game last night. Adrian Stelly was also with them.

Keep in mind that Houston is fighting to get back in the playoff race and they're only 2 games behind us. A win tonight would be big for them.

T-Mac seems to be playing well of late coming off the bench.

I think this is going to be a tough game for the Blazers.

What's with all of the anti-Blazers fans on our game thread? I'm skeptical of this game but if they're rooting for the Rockets, why don't they just post on Houston's board?

^yeah, odd...

and i think many say houston needs to win and thats why they will win, but what about the blazers? i'm pretty sure they don't want to lose.

it's at home, blazers have to fight to defend it.

I almost want Houstan to win just to see Yao celebrate:

But in the end I predict we win 103 - 91. Roy has 30, 7, and 7 and Webster scores 17.

Good luck guys, just love your team. Roy, Aldridge and then add Oden to the mix later with guys like Outlaw, Jack, Jones, Frye and others should be one of the favorites to win it all in the future.

Should be a tough game, but I don't see us pulling it out especially knowing we've been a little shaky on the road (matter of fact anywhere haha) and Portland is such a great home team. 17-3 is insane.

Yeah, it's my way of jinxing the other team. I can't predict a win as to not jinx the Blazers. I understand that I can be an annoying a$$h#)e sometimes but you'll have to just bear with me.

Furthermore it appears that the Blazers have the advantage on their home floor and they are much improved since they last played the rockets. It should be interesting to see 1)if Yao will burn us and 2) If the Blazers can prevent the points in the paint. It isn't possible to shut Yao down but the Blazers need to prevent easy layups and limit Yao's touches as much as possible.
