ESPN reported a three team deal but its prob dead because of devin harris got hurt.

Ultimately it ends up like this.
Portlands ends up with Devin Harris
Dallas got Kidd
NJ got Stackhouse

I'd do that in a heartbeat. Well... I guess I'd have to know what exactly Portland is sending out, but assuming it's nothing crazy, I'd love to get Harris.

NBA Coast to Coast (TV)

They had three guys on, I didnt get the name
of the guy who said it. Sorry, it cought me
offguard. Rick Bucher was one guy I know
that, but he didnt say it. They all agreed
tho that Dallas really wants Kidd and the
only way to pull it off is with a 3rd team.

Keep in mind tho that he said the deal
is most likely dead because Harris got
hurt and is out probably for 2 weeks.. .

Jack and a 1st? That's horrible. Webster and a 1st, more reasonable. C'mon though Odd, find out what the deal would've been!

Oden - Aldridge - No one cares - Roy - Harris

That's just sick, it's not even funny.

If anything would kill this deal, I don't think it would be Harris going down with a minor injury. The real problem is that Harris just signed an extension and has a Poison Pill Provision. That makes him fairly difficult to add into a trade.

Id be pumped to get Harris.. But then the issue is, does he start, or come off the bench like Jack? I would imagine that he comes off the bench for the rest of this year. I would venture to guess it would be Webster and Jack.
Starters - Harris/ Roy/ Outlaw/ Aldridge/ Oden White unit - Blake/ Rudy/ Jones/ Frye/ Joel

I was just gonna comment on that, im not sure contractually how that would work.

edit: I also couldn't find a salary number I thought was accurate for him, hoopshype didn't seem on the numbers.

Three letters PPP. That alone kills any deal involving the Mavericks and Devin Harris. I would be THOROUGHLY IMPRESSED if Harris is traded this year.

If anyone in the NBA can figure out how to get a deal done with him, it'd be the Blazers Assistant GM, Tom Penn.

That said, I agree that Harris being traded seems to be next to impossible this year.

I would love that, and can't imagine the injury holding it up, as I would think, depending on what we were giving up, we would just kind of waive the physical. What I can't see is why NJ wouldn't prefer him to Stackhouse. That's pretty bad for NJ. I wonder if we would have to take on a bad contract for that to happen. I would be fine with that, since getting Harris would hurt a lot of our cap space anyways. I mean, as long as Paul doesn't mind. Man, now the next three weeks or so leading up to the deadline are going to go by painstakingly slow. Unless eh is moved before that. I think as long as I am not told to hang on to my shorts, I should be ok. :D

EDIT:

So just rough idea, with picks or something moved maybe, I dunno

Portland outgoing: Pryzbilla, Sergio, Webster
Portland Incoming: Devin Harris, Erick Dampier
Maybe too much to give up for mainly Harris, but am just playing around, so forgive me.

NJ outgoing: Kidd
NJ Incoming: Stackhouse, Webster, Sergio, Raef.
They don't get expirings, but even if they are to, are they going to get under the cap this offseason, with Carter and Jefferson. Webster is a good prospect for them, and I feel like I read somewhere they weren't sold on Williams being their PG of the future, so maybe they woudl like Sergio?

Dallas outgoing: Stackhouse, Dampier, Harris
Dallas incoming: Pryzbilla, Kidd.
They get Kidd. They also save money on Dampier to Pryzbilla, getting someone with the same length of contract, but save 18 million over the life of the deal. I know Cuban isn't pressed for cash, but Pryzbilla is also younger by 4 years.

I don't know how much I like it for Portland. I like Harris, an he could definitely be our PG of the future, but anyways, just throwing out an example.

The reporter was Chris Broussard. He also said that portland was reluctant to trade for a player who might be out for three weeks because we need every win possible to get in the playoffs. I think it makes alot of sense because it would be one thing to upset the chemistry by making a trade but then to have to wait several weeks to fill the void left by whoever was gone. However if it is jack plus our number one and some various filler to make it work I dont see how you dont do it witht the improved play of sergio.

YES!! I got a trade to work with the PPP contract. Its a lot of players, and a Dallas trade exemption, but NJ gets a good amount of young guys, veterans, and expirings/ soon to be expirings

Bottom line is this, do you really think that any package that involves Jason Kidd going to the Nets nets only Stackhouse? I would have to think that Harris would be needed, so him going to Portland is beyond me. Either way its almost February, LET THE RUMORS FLY!!!

The rumor as originally stated is pretty bare, so a lot depends on what Portland is sending out. Obviously they can't just get back Stackhouse, that's impossible with how much Kidd makes. Plus, the Nets may not want Harris since he just signed that extension.
