Rookie Challenge/All Star Game Question

It's been discussed before, but is it true that besides LeBron, Roy is the only other player that has been selected for both the Rookie/Soph and the All Star Game?

Granted, the rookie challenge has a short history (Since only 2000 I think?), but that still is a nice feather in the cap for Roy.

Anyway, if anyone knows of another player or can set me straight pipe up.

I believe it is true.

I wish Roy didn't have to play in the Rookie/Soph game, I want him to rest. But he likely won't get big minutes in the ASG, probably no more than 15 so I guess it's ok.

I'm almost positive that Yao Ming has done both in the same year.

Wait, is Roy REQUIRED to play in the rookie-sophomore game? I was thinking that it might make sense for him to skip the rookie-soph game but I guess it'll be nice to see him play in both games if he's required or wants to play in the rookie-sophomore game.

Yes, unless he's injured.

Wow, that's a terrible rule. Players in the ASG should be able to get out of the rook-soph game.

Disagree. Ostensibly the point of the rookie/soph game is to pitt the last two classes against each other and see who's better. (Although in reality it's because there's never 14 good rookies to make two teams out of)

But taking the best player off either team takes away from that. And I want to see the Sophs kill the rookies the way they got killed last year.

Good call...2004 Yao played in the ASG and the Rookie challenge as a Sophomore.

After a little research...

2004---Yao, ASG & Rookie Challenge (sophomore)

2005---Lebron, ASG & Rookie Challenge (sophomore)

2005---Wade, ASG & Rookie Challenge (sophomore)

2008---Roy, ASG & Rookie Challenge (sophomore)

...those are the players who have played in both. Pretty elite company I might say.
