- QuickJust like old times ...
Former Trail Blazers forward Zach Randolph, now with the Knicks, showed up to the Rose Garden more than 30 minutes late for tonight's game, and hurriedly got dressed before getting up some shots on the court.
Apparently, Randolph spent the night at his West Linn home and had trouble with traffic.
Word quickly spread through both locker rooms regarding Z-Bo's mysterious whereabouts, and when he finally arrived at 6:32 p.m., the word made it down the hall to the Blazers. His late arrival - which happened a handful of times in Portland - was met with some chuckles.
"He just showed up?'' Sergio Rodriguez said, breaking out in a big smile. "I love that guy.''
Joel Przybilla, though, felt it was an ominous sign.
"I've seen this before,'' Przybilla said. "These are the nights he goes for 40.''
Randolph said Blazers star Brandon Roy stopped by his home last night - Roy lives nearby - and he was amazed at the damage to Roy's left hand. Roy injured the fore and middle fingers of his left hand in Wednesday's loss to Cleveland, although X-rays were negative.
"Is he playing?'' Randolph asked. "I can't believe his hand. That was ugly.''
