Question Regarding Buyout + Trade (Francis Deal)

Does anyone know if there was any clarification in regards to the NY/POR trade in the offseason where it was rumored that Francis had his buyout at least in part paid for by NY before being traded to Portland. In essence NY agreed to pay a chunk of the buyout and transferred that to Portland. At least that was the rumor. Anyone know if anything ever came of that?

I don't believe it did but I'm not positive on that. I'm pretty sure the Blazers bought him out AFTER the trade occured and the only 'payment' of sorts that they received was the trade exception.
