OT: Kidd to Dallas Imminent?

Post#1 » by Billy » Wed Feb 13, 2008 7:15 pm

Possibly...

Link

Although sources say that the teams are still sorting out final details, this deal was described as "imminent" by one source close to the process after negotiations moved to an advanced stage Tuesday night. The proposed swap -- salvaged from talks of a three-way trade with Portland that developed and fizzled quickly two weeks ago -- would require Dallas to send 24-year-old point guard Devin Harris, veteran swingman Jerry Stackhouse, the expiring contracts of center DeSegana Diop and swingman Devean George and another player such as guard Maurice Ager to New Jersey for Kidd and possibly forward Malik Allen or veteran guard Darrell Armstrong.

Makes more sense for the Nets than Frye, Jack and Sergio...well, on to trading for Hinrich...

Bummer, if we had a chance to have gotten Harris in the previously rumored trade I will be bummed. I would have gladly given up TO or Webs in that deal! Tell me it isn't so KP!

Harris, Stackhouse, Diop, and George for Kidd and Allen/Armstrong?????

I could be wrong, but that just sounds like another Rod Thorn wet dream

I just figured Cuban was protesting too much when he said 'no way' for Kidd. He sees the Lakers and the Suns making big moves and the Spurs are still the Spurs....the Mavs window is shrinking.

"Whoever thinks we are making that move is on crack." Mark Cuban As Billy just said, he must have found a new crack dealer. :P

Dont forget possible 1st round picks...those and Harris are actually the only true value the Nets recieve, but Harris alone is great for them.
And I'm glad we didn't trade Outlaw/Webster for Harris. We might be able to draft a better fit.

Another team that will be in decline in a couple years. That will be when we should be making a run, so you have to like it.

IF the deal goes down the Nets are expected to release Stackhouse according to ESPN and then they think he will wait the 30days and re-sign with Dallas. However i think the Blazers should try and coax him into signing a deal. The Blazers would need to release someone and that i think should be T. Green. However i think Bringing in Stackhouse would make a TON of sense. I do admit it's a longshot but it's worth a try to make it happen.

damn I kinda wanted Devin and Bass on our team. too bad, I hope it's for the best.
Maybe we should be targeting a SG instead of a PG and make Roy the official PG of the team. He's been averaging something really close to a triple double in the last 3-4 games while handling a lot more of the PG duties. Still, I think there should always be someone with Roy who can bring the ball up from the other end of the court. That way he doesn't have to expend the energy doing that and he can catch it in the 3 point line and set up the offense from that point on. What do you guys think of this?

I just think this is a really bad deal for Dallas. Seems like a knee-jerk reaction to moves by Suns and Lakers. Oh well glad they made a stupid trade, not us...

The only positive that this has for us is that we should be facing a seriously depleted Mavs team tonight

Harris should be coming here, not NJ :waaa: :censored:

Ok maybe I haven't seen enough of Harris to understand the love this guy is getting because I don't recall him being a very consistent outside shooter? Fast, yes. Slasher, yes. Decent defender,???. Is he reaaaallly worth a combo of Jack/Web/TO/Serg?? lil' help pls.

Fitz...You're right. If this is done like it seems to be, Portland should actually be able to get a win on this road trip as Dallas will basically just have a starting five. Avery Johnson may suit up.... :P
