Chi boards like this trade I took it form there), do you? Various form of it have been discussed before. Time to talk about it again.

Ben Wallace, Andres Noccioni, and Ben Gordon to

PORTLAND

for

Sergio Rodriguez, Martell Webster, Raef LaFrentz, Darius Miles, and the Blazer's 2008 pick.

It works on trade checker: Trade ID #4508767

Why for the Blazers?

Because Gordon would work perfectly with Roy, and be deadly. With Gordon and Jack and Blake (and Roy and Rudy in the wings), Sergio and Webster become expendable.

Because Nocioni is a veteran who would probably lift them at the SF spot, althoug they have Outlaw and Jones who are both playing well, though inconsistently.

Because Ben Wallace adds toughness that LaFrentz doesn't have, and would fit well next to Aldridge.

Because Miles would be someone else's problem, and the pick isn't going to be that great, anyways.

Gordon-Roy-Noc/Outlaw/Jones-Aldridge-Wallace/Frye/Pryz

for the future - Gordon-Roy-Outlaw-Aldridge-Oden. Yikes.

Why for the Bulls?

Because Gordon is gone. Because Sergio and Webster at least are talented and young, and could fill needs (Sergio a creative PG, Webster a scoring 2-3). Because cap space is opened up for the Lebron/Wade sweepstakes. Because the pick is something.

It looks good if you replace Miles with Przybilla and the 2008 1st round pick with a 2009 1st round pick.

Seriously

I would gladly do that in a frickin heart beat though!

Even if you replace Przybilla with Miles, add a couple more draft picks, and took out Nocioni, I would still do the trade.

Where do I sign? I doubt chicago does this as well though.

Chicago would never do this. Even if they would, I'm not sure I want to see Ben Wallace in Portland. My hatred of him and his attitude are almost enough that I would pass up Gordon/Noccioni.

Why is Miles included? He's a negative going to Chicago and if we take on Wallace/Gordon/Nocioni then the reason to trade Miles (cap space in 09) no longer matters. We might as well just cut him if he is making us send more to Chicago.

I for one don't like the idea of taking on Wallace, he's way too one dimensional of a player. He's also getting older by the day. In this instance I guess I don't care about his contract because we'd be scrapping the 09 cap plan anyway, but he still isn't a great acquisition considering he'll be coming off our bench to play defense, a position I think Pryzbilla can fill more than adequately for those short stretches.

Furthermore even if Wallace's contract isn't terrible for us it is for Chicago and we should be making them pay with that in mind. Although I guess this is how we get Nocioni...

Maybe I'm overvaluing our pick and LaFrentz's expiring contract, but I think that can net a better return than Nocioni and an aging/overpaid Wallace.

I think chicago is at the point that Gordon may be had without a team being forced to take on the wallace contract as well. That certainly seems to be the building sentiment amongst a lot of bulls' fans.

But...and I could be wrong about this...has Paxson ever completed a trade of or for a rotation type player?

On the Chi board and I think trade board as well a Webster and "Jack or Sergio" (and filler if necessary" trade has also been discussed. I think Spykes may have proposed it.

It would be a great deal to get Gordon for Webster, Jack or Sergio and a future protected 1st.

I would hate to loose Webster, his overall game is very appealing and he will only get better. But, its relativley easy to find players with his skillset. Gordon on the other hand is far more rare. He can actually create his own shot, something we SORLEY lack.

Get it done KP.

I agree with D-Train. CHI could really use Pryz if they trade Wallace, and I just don't see a D.Miles deal being done. Plus I selfishly want to keep our pick this year since it may be the last time we're in the Lottory before my 8 year old is in college.

well, oden + wallace would be AWESOME, but like many i doubt chicago would do this.

Wallace, Nocioni & Gordon are all available in trade - but there is no way Bulls will take Miles. That's a deal breaker.

The Bulls do expect to keep Gordon - if nothing else on the Qual Offer. He's not about to walk away since Bulls have full matching rights this off-season. However, he is available for the right deal

What about this?

Gordon
Smith
Nocioni

for

Webster
Jack
Raef
Blazers 1st Round Pick (Top 5 Protected)

I dont think so. Smith is our best player this year & the other 2 are essential team members.

If you take wallace, Bulls will certainly include Noc or Gordon or Smith. However they will not trade them as a group without Wallace

Nocioni is BYC & a little difficult to trade - but with high salaries like wallace & Raef, it can be done.

Feel free to propose ideas on Chicago Board.....

bulls6, I'd say that makes alot of sense... I'd also say your sig is pretty hilarious.

I've been thinking I like the idea of Wallace, Nocioni and Gordon for something like Outlaw, Joel, Jack, Raef, and Jones. I know alot of blazer fans prolly won't like the deal but I think it makes alot of sense for both teams.

Bulls lineup after
PG - Hinrich / Duhon
SG - Jack / Sefolsha
SF - Deng / Jones
PF - Thomas / Outlaw
C - Pryz / Noah / Gray

Blazers lineup after
PG - Blake / Gordon / Sergio
SG - Roy / Gordon / Rudy
SF - Webster / Nocioni
PF - Aldridge / Frye / Nocioni
C - Oden / Wallace / Frye

edit: for blazer fans Wallace's deal expires the same time as Miles, creating us a gigantic pair of expirings in 2009. This isn't quite as good as a FA, but in some ways it might be better as their contracts are big enough to be traded by themselves + filler for almost any player in the league.

It's true - but not funny for Bulls fans.

Paxson just is not a trader.

Paxson's last in-season trade was in Nov 2003 (Jalen Rose to Toronto). His last player swap was in summer 2006 with Cleveland - scrub Eddie Basden for scrub tall guy Martynas A.

Paxson is going to have to stop being attached to his players & move one or 2 if necessary

I didn't realize that Smith was that big a part of the Bulls. I thought they might like to move him so that the young guys (Noah and Thomas) and get more PT.

And FWIW, the deal I posted passed under the trade checker even with Nocioni's BYC.

Personally, I'd love it if the Blazers could find a way to get Nocioni and Gordon together. The team would be set for the next decade...

Gordon
Roy
Nocioni
Aldridge
Oden

That's a dream lineup. I'd be more than willing to take on Wallace's contract to get it done.
