Here's a deal which I think is better both for Chicago and Portland. Chicago doesn't need any more SF's like Webster or combo forwards like Outlaw.

but we would still have 3 point guards..lowry,blake, sergio...also I don't want to take on cap, I want to unload it..I really do not want to be in the 100 million range like we were in the trader bob days..we should look to unload miles with jack for a better contract.

This would be a plan instead of the 09 cap space...when we could forseeably sign Gordon anyways. This is just a surefire way to get him here instead of hoping.

Also, I think the original plan was to try to woo chris paul, but after the way they've been playing, I think there's only something like a 5.3% chance of him coming here nowadays...

Awesome, awesome, awesome deal. It appears to also be very fair for all sides. I would go as far as sending a 2009 lotto protected 1st round pick to Memphis.

This kills our 'cap plan', but in all reality we would be extremley lucky to get a player of Ben Gordon's caliber in the summer of 2009.

Lowry does continue the PG log-jam. But we can use one of Sergio or Kyle as trade bait to move up on draft night.

My depth-chart would have Outlaw at back-up PF and Jones as back-up SF.

Thats what I was going to say to this trade, but then thought about the Gasol trade.. I wouldnt be too surprised if the front office was for it, although Raefs contract isnt quite an expiring

yeah, i also think memphis doesn't like this trade at all.

maybe with a future 1st rounder involved, i think memphis does it. not entirely sure that chicago does it either.

I don't know, memphis may need a first round pick in return to do this deal.

The '09' cap plan' is anything but guaranteed. The Bulls had something like a 2001 or 2002 cap plan, and they got nothing out of it.

The chances we get a player better than Ben Gordon via. the 2009 free agent market is very, very slim.

another thing worth noting is that 6 or 7 other teams may have substantial cap-space that summer. And it may even be more.

so...a lot of teams with a lot of cap-space competing for a small number of desirable free agents. I hope the blazers have a 'plan B'!

Ya, but looking at the possibilities we are very unlikley to get a tier 1 player, and in this deal we get a guy who, in the long run, fits this team better than anyone in tier 2. Just my opinion.
