Excuse my ignorance but I do not watch very many Blazers games.
Im just curious is Joel Pryzbilla is considered a big part of your team this year or if he is someone the Blazers would be looking to deal and if so what would they be asking for in return.

He is an important piece to the Blazers. Right now, he's our only center and next season, he's going to be Greg's backup.
Now, that all said, he is available... at a price.
How about this deal?
Przybilla

Joel is the white Bill Russell without the unpleasant chip on his shoulder. However, Blazers will listen to offers.

Nate hates him and never plays him when he needs to. Could probably be had for an expiring if Nate had any say. Then he wouldn't have people yelling at him when he complains about us not playing defense or not getting rebounds, and Joel is sitting on the bench.

+1
Joel was having a GREAT game, he had a
ton of rebounds and the Blazers were doing
well. Then Nate stops playing him like he normal
does and thats about the time the Blazers started
falling behind. Im not saying thats the reason, im
just saying it seems the Blazers do better with him in.

i was just about to ask why does he only average 21mpg?

Nate is why. It seems so obvious to play him more, may be something I'm missing.

I think a part of the truth to Nate not playing Joel down the stretch is he has gotten a push from management to let Aldridge/Outlaw/Frye play through the clutch times. He has alluded to that before.
We know what we have in Joel, but management wants to see Aldridge etc develop in the late game situations.

Probably works. We clear roster space for Rudy, gives us two first round picks to try to trade around, cuts Joel's salary to a shorter deal, and gives Nate another big white C to sit on the bench when we might be able to use him.

It's a conspiracy to hold the white man down. The Raptors could really take advantage.

I don't think the 'proposal' had an eye on talent exchanged, but rather on cap-space implications.
Pryzbilla is a much better center then Rasho, but his contract, while smaller is two years longer.
The trade would free up cap-space in 2009 and add another draft pick.
Personally, I wouldn't do that trade. I think portland could do a lot better then that if they wanted to move both Pryzbilla and jack.

I was just throwing the idea out there as a starting point. If anyone wants to take the idea and expand on it or change it, that's perfectly fine.
What about this...?
Joel Przybilla
Darius Miles
Jarrett Jack
James Jones
2nd Round Pick
Cash Considerations

Rasho
Kapono
Dixon

Ugh, don't like those deals. Keep Pryz.

Not going to say they are the best deals ever, but really, if Nate refuses to play one of the only people who can rebound and play a bit of defense, why not ship him out. No sense in keeping him, get the extra cap space, why not?

Can I ask why?
In the latest deal I proposed, we get a capable center back in Rasho and he expires the same year as LaFrentz. Plus, we won't be without a veteran backup C next season. Next, we get Kapono who's just as good a shooter as Jones and doesn't have the health concerns. And by sending out Miles in the process, we don't hurt our cap space in 09 any. Finally, we get Dixon's expiring contract and the Raptors 1st rounder.
What don't you like about it? What do you think should be changed?

Close but I don't want Kapono. How about this?
Przybilla
Blake
$3 million
>>for
TJ Ford
Jorge Garbajosa
Darrick Martin
Plus in a separate but contingent deal,
Miles
$3 million

Rasho Nesterovic
This deal saves Raptors money, gets them the white Bill Russell, and a good PG. For the Blazers, we get a risky (health wise) PG in a deal that maintains our 2009 FA plans.
