Last night in the Blazers game chat there
were a few people that didnt know anything
about Wafer which is totally understandable
since he hasnt really done much in the full
NBA season(s). I answerd the best I could
since I know a little about Wafer.. .So I
figured Wafer needs his own thread so
people can know some things about him.

Feel free to add or correct anything!!

Wafer went to Florida State University, in
his soph year he avg 12pts & the declared
for the '05 NBA Draft. Wafer was not invited
to the NBA Draft camp which hurt him a lot.

The Lakers drafted him in the 2nd round.
Then they let him go in '06. He went to
the D-Leauge and was named 2006-07
player of the month once.. .
After that he was signed by the Clippers
for 10 days & was played 1min then waived.
Then he was signed by the Nuggets in 2007.

Nuggets - Summer League '07
Mavs vs Nuggs - Wafer 19pts
Nuggs vs Pist - Wafer 25pts
Nuggs vs LAL - Wafer 22pts
NYK vs Nuggs - Wafer 42pts

Bye Bye my name is Von Wafer i will be with the Blazers for 1 to 2 weeks or so then i will be released.

I hope the next player likes my Locker.

(I am thinking Brent Barry (longshot) Luke Jackson or someone else to try and fill the shooter slot )

Im sure the Blazers will keep Wafer for the
rest of the season then not resign him.. .

My guess is that his slot will be left open
for Rudy & then perhaps our pick(s) and
a player or two will be traded either to
move up higher in the draft or for a vet
that can either provide rebounding and
toughness or some scoring ability.. .
But who knows!!

Reason i believe this is KP says they like his Shooting. In 3 years he has a Super Bad Shooting percentage. We will see is all i will say but this deal feels like KP has something planned and not for next season. He either has a player in the NBDL pegged or maybe like i suggested has already reached out to Brent or his agent. The Blazers were SUPER close to getting Barry a few years ago before he chose the Spurs.

I do think they will give a Von a chance but i think we all wondered why make such a small move when it really was not needed.

Time will tell ...... GO BLAZERS !!!!

Doubt he plays much, but might as well see what he can do. In a trade like this if he is even able to play it was probably a solid move--or your team sucks that bad. But I'll look at the positive side of things.

well, the most important thing is that he represents a roster spot that will be free for the summer.

nothing against von wafer, but he won't do much (or anything) with the blazers and will mostly be part of some other organization in a few months.

anyone hear his interview on the 5th quarter show last night he sounded pretty nervous to be here and he sounded pretty modest
