Sign Sam Cassell?

Post#1 » by The Emcee » Sun Feb 24, 2008 2:26 am

The Clippers are leaning towards buying out the contract of point guard Sam Cassell.

If this were to go down and he would agree to a contract for the rest of this season, what do you guys think of pairing him with Roy in the backcourt?

Him & Roy would work well together
however I dont see Sam signing here
and I dont see Sam getting us to the
playoffs. I rather give Blake & Sergio
the mins. But if the Blazers were close
to making the playoffs I would like Sam!!

We're well beyond the point in the season where signing a veteran like Cassell can help get us to the playoffs.

Besides, there's not a chance he'd ever sign with Portland.

Signing veterans that get waived is something championship teams do, not rebuilding teams just looking to stay over .500 for the season.

If the Blazers go on another 13 game winning streak they could be a championship team.

That hope went out the window with the Green trade.
