POR-MIL-MIN: Turning Reaf and all pick into Foye and Simmons

Bucks trade Simmons, Villanueva for Raef, Blazers 13th pick and the Knicks' 2nd round pick:

Bucks use this draft to reshuffle a bit, taking a SF with their own lottery pick and then dumping Simmons' contract for a big expiring; then drafting a more suitable PF/C to put next to Bogut and Yi, over CV who's due to an extension or becoming RFA next summer; and with two 2nd rounders, they might also land a good backup PG (or they'll draft Collison with our pick, and Hendrix/Dorsey in the 2nd round).

Wolves trade Foye for Villanueva and Memphis' 2nd round pick:

This is if Minnesota is in a position to draft Rose but not Beasly, so they'll have no use for an undersized SG (while they alreay have McCants). Villanueva is a great talent who could space the floor for Big Al.
A high 2nd round pick from Memphis would improve their chances of stealing some talent in the 2nd round.

Blazers trade Raef, 13th pick and two 2nd round picks for Simmons and Foye:

This kills the cap space plan, but Foye and Simmons could turn out to be better additions than whatever will be available next summer. Simmons plays good D and can hit the 3 in a high percentage, same goes for Foye who's also a great scorer.

Personally, I wouldn't really want either Foye or Simmons. I am still holding out that KP can take the "13th pick" and either package it to move up slightly or land a proven vet.

Issues:

1. Randy Foye? Seriously? He's your missing piece?
2. There's no way in hell Milwaukee would do this. They're not gonna give up Charlie Villanueva just so they can save one year on Bobby Simmon's contract.
3. If Milwaukee was dumb enough to do this I'd much rather get Charlie than Randy Foye.

I think Minnesota is the only team that wouldn't make that trade. I would for us, and I think Milwaukee would take a lotto pick for Villanueva. As for us getting Charlie V., why? To play alongsde LMA, and Frye? How many 6'11" jump shooters can one team have?

I totally agree with you about Foye. He's far from our "missing piece" imo.

However, I don't think Charlie V is has hard to get as you'd think. Villanueva hasn't exactly been a resounding success in Milwaukee, and with Yi come on so strong, I think he could be had pretty cheap. I think the Bucks would jump on that 1st deal, but I don't think we'd offer it.

No, I wouldn't trade the pick for Foye straight up let alone give away capspace at the same time. In addition, I think this trade favors milwaukee too heavily. The thirteenth pick would have to go to minny in this proposal (not that I'm saying I'd do it).

Thanks for the ideas, but I don't think Foye fits the blazers right now. Might as well go for Ben Gordon, imo.
