David Aldridge said of Smoove,
"Smith is one of the most intriguing talents in the league - a lanky but efficient shot-blocker like Andrei Kirilenko who also is second to Johnson in scoring,"

It's entirely possible that Smoove finishes his career with more blocks than Oden. He's started scoring in bunches. He rebounds; he gets assists; he leads the Hawks in steals. The guy is a stat sheet wonder.
What's so bad about this thread that'd get it shut down?

NO. Blazers fans have too much hope rested on the broad shoulders of Greg Oden to give him up, even for a very intriguing young talent. Pritchard passed up on Durant for Oden and there's no way he'd take Josh Smith over Oden.
Edit:Also, it's an unwritten rule that you never give up a potential franchise center for anything short of a superstar in the league. The only player the Blazers should take for Oden is Lebron, while most other players in the league can't live up to what many Blazers fans hope that Oden can help this team accomplish.

No. But I would go as far as offering Aldridge, Webster, Jack and our 2008 1st round pick for him. He is that good.

Jason Quick said that Pritchard turned down offers of both Kevin Garnett and Tim Duncan for the No. 1 overall pick. Even knowing that the pick was Greg Oden, I highly doubt Portland would do that deal.

I like Smith. He's a good player, but you do NOT trade a franchise center for a forward. Players with odens combination of size, athleticism, and talent are few and far between.

I seriously doubt the Spurs offered Duncan. I heard the top two offers were Garnett and Carmello.

I think I can safely say there will not be a single taker for a trade that sends Oden out of town for anything less than LeBron, and even then I think we'd be split. I'll lock this down before it gets ugly.
