I can't even imagine. We'd probably be freakin' out about LaMarcus's lackluster rebounding. Plenty of folks are hard on him cause he's a softie. But if we didn't have Greg Oden coming in we'd be really freakin' out.

that has playoffs written all over it.

joel as a dominant defender and rebounder, zach a 20/10 guy, miles our own triple double threat, and webster and telfair the 2 most promissing backuourt in the whole nba.

What if Blazers drafted Chris Paul in 2005? Or, turn the clock back further, what if Wallace accepted a contract extension and Blazers built a team around Wallace and Zach? Add Miles into the mix assuming he isn

I do happen to remember that Portland basically agreed to trade Zach to the Clippers for the 12th pick--with the agreement in principal being that the Clippers select Amare Stoudemire. I dug up a couple links maybe a year ago from ESPN where a few people were talking about the deal.

Stoudemire and Sheed side by side could have been quite a pairing.

Chris Paul stings, and I'm hoping it is lessened with Oden coming back. It's pretty clear that he's so good that he would have pulled even that 2005-06 into legitimacy.

I have to believe if Blazers got Stoudemire, Wallace would still be a Blazer.

Lets go back even further. What if Portland hadn't traded Jermaine O'Neal?

What if Sabonis had come over after the 1988 Olympics? What if Walton had been durable?

There are many what-ifs we can play here.

That certainly would have offset the effects of Pippen, Smith, and Sabonis getting old better than the acquisitions of Anderson, Patterson, and Davis did.

I think if we drafted Paul would still have been able to get Roy, but no Aldridge or Oden. Remember we essentially got Roy for the 8th pick and our pick probably would have been in that range. Now with that said, does Paul and Roy = Roy, Aldridge, Oden? lol I dont think too many people will have a hard time with this.

No doubt about it Sabonis and Drexler would have hung a banner. Sabonis could have come over with Drazen Petrovic in 1989.

I completely agree. As much was said at the time. But my point was more that you can play what-if scenarios until you're blue in the face, and at the end of the day they don't make you any happier than Doc or Ainge in your sig.

The problem with this question is we did hang a banner after Moses was traded.

actually as impossible as it is to prove, the Blazers would have likely had paul, roy, and aldridge.

Remember just how bad the blazers were in 2005/06. They were the worst team in the league, and chris paul as a rookie wouldn't have pulled them out of that swoon the team did in the last half of the season. Maybe Portland would have finished paul's rookie season with the 4th best record and finished 4th in the lottery!...like they did anyway...then all the trades on 06 draft day could have still happened.

portland would have had a better record last year though...probably not by a lot. Maybe 9th or 10th.

Don't go back too far or you'll stumble over the elephant in the corner.
