Would you rather take Beasley or Rose? Rose is the obvious choice as we already have Aldridge at pf. However, We may be able to get Conley + more for Aldridge. Beasley is clearly a better rebounder and shooter than LMA, and Conley is having success in Memphis. What do you guys think?

I think Beasley can play SF so I wouldn't worry about moving a player. I'm not as sold on Rose as I thought I would be at this point so I'd probably look at Beasley first--but would be planning on him as a SF.

i would take Rose.
and conley is a bust. hes to small to be a successful point guard in the nba

I would take Beasley if I could trade the pick. If that was not an option I'd take Derrick Rose.

If we got the #1 pick I would do what I wanted to do last year and trade it for the #2 + other stuff so I wouldn't have to make the choice and have to carry the blame if one turned out to be a bust.

How much did Connely's team improve this year?
And how much did the Hornets improve Paul's rookie year?

well, everybody says the blazers NEED a pg, so if indeed portland gets the #1, why go for something different than a pg?

You ALWAYS take the BPA in the draft. The problem
is which player is better or more to the point, do
better in the NBA. Beasley seems to be better
and will probably translate well to the NBA.
Rose tho is not far behind and will most
likely translate well too. Its not a easy
choice at all. Personally I like Rose
more but Beasley will probably
be the better player.. .so I
guess I'd go with Beasley.

I think you put Beasley at SF,
LMA at PF then move Roy to PG
if Rudy does well. Rudy at the SG.

I would almost certainly trade out of the number one spot. Beasley might be a great player, but I really don't think his attitude fits in with our team. I'd much rather have Rose, and he fills a bigger need. We could also trade the pick for a more established PG; however, I can't think of a player that's worth that pick, fits our team age group, and is available.

I take whoever has more trade value. I then would turn around and trade them along with Jack and Webster for a superstar like Chris Paul.

Mike Conley is no way near Chris Paul's level. And i dont see quite how Conley would be an upgrade from Jack or Blake. From what i have seen from Conley this season, it doesnt look like he will have a successful nba career. he falls under the category of those small guards in the nba that can't do much.

we need a pg that can attack the rim with his strength

I remember those days where we were top 5 pick bound and everyone was cooking up #1 picks + filler for CP3 deals.....

I'd trade down for Rose/Gordon, etc. I think our PG need is greater than SF.

I'd take Derrick Rose. PG is a much tougher position to fill in the NBA than SF and while Beasley can flat out play I could see Derrick Rose making a bigger impact on this team than Beasley would.

Honestly, winning the lottery two years in a row has happened already once in the NBA (orlando 92-93) and it won't happen again.

Rose would be sweet, though.

He didn't play for a long time due to injury. When he finally came back, he looked pretty good especially considering that he was playing and trying to play himself into playing shape. I wasn't really even disagreeing with you though (even though I dont think he's a bust) I just didn't like your reasoning that he is too small to play pg in the NBA.

They traded their best player for soap-on-a-rope instead.

I'd consider taking Beasley so we could trade him, but I'd be worried that the team that takes Rose might actually want to keep him. I think Rose is going to be a hell of a good NBA player, and would not regret picking him number one.
