Thats pretty close.. I would put Mayo in the top of the 2nd tier, and put Jordan in the 2nd tier. Thats about the only changes Id make

Good thread, but instead of tiers I'll just post my top 5 draft board as far as the Blazers go, not who I necessarily think the top players are.

I'm pretty much in line with that for the blazers picks. I'd trade Beasley for a star.

That looks perfect to me. I'm not really sold on Gordon just from the personnel standpoint. I don't think he's a good enough ball handler to help Roy out there, and I don't want Roy having 90% of those duties. 50/50 is more ideal to me. But from a pure talent stand point this looks pretty solid.

I also would probably consider flip flopping Bayless and Mayo. But to me those two are relatively close.

I'm really not sold on Thabeet, Westbrook or Hibbert much at all. I'd probably be pretty happy with Jordan if he fell all the way to #13, but I'm sure some team is going to make him a top 5 pick.

That's why I named my last group "Tier Reach"--they're players that some team will reach for far above where they really should be and where their eventual NBA contribution will likely be. None of the big men in this draft will end up being superstars, certainly, and Jordan is the only one I can ever see being a solid starter in the league because of his athleticism. Thabeet and Hibbert look like perennial projects to me, particularly Hibbert (who has the footspeed of a tree sloth).

As for Mayo/Bayless, I think they are both about equal in terms of the draft. I personally think Mayo will end up being the better player if he gets his head on straight, but that was a big enough "if" that I put Bayless ahead of him.

I need to see more of the international players (haven't seen much of Batum this year compared to last) and definitely want to see more of Gallinari. I've watched a ton of Pac-10 hoops this year, so I'm a bit biased in that regard. I made a bubble category for players I think could jump up or down and I think DeAndre Jordan belongs there, but I have no doubt he'll be taken high, so he's in tier 3. In tier 2 I think the order could be shifted a million times depending on what you want out of your pick. They'll all be good, but at different things.

I don't know whether you factored Brook Lopez into this discussion of big men, but I think he is going to be a very solid starter in this league. Certainly has a better shot than Jordan IMO. Hopefully Stanford makes it far enough in the tournament for him to play against players like Thabeet and Hibbert so people can see how good he really is.

I've never seen them play and be curious about why you'd think they can be good NBA players.

And if they'd be better the portland's current SF's

Batum is much more unrefined than Danilo, but also probably has more potential(Almost due solely to his athlecism).

I like Galinari more. He is just such a smart player, probably would immediately have the 2nd best BBall IQ on this team after Roy(Although Blake might be #2). He can shoot, pass and rebound. Reminds me alot of the current Turkoglu.

Ive seen 2 games with Batum & 1 game of Gallinari.
Then ive seen highlights on youtube but you cant
put a lot of faith into youtube highlights.. .lol

My random 2cents.. .
Batum is better then Gallinari however Gallinari
has a better NBA body. Both of them are very
good on the open court, Batum is a high flyer.
Both have NBA 3pt range but streaky.. .I think
Batum has much more upside. I dont believe
either would be a starting SF on the Blazers
but I think Batum would be pretty close and
could creep up on Webster in starting.. .
Gallinari might fall a bit because of his contract.
If I remember correctly he has one of those
contracts that will be hard to get out of.. .
Gallinari is the better shooter. When I think
of Batum, I think of Travis Outlaw but a bit
better when it comes to taking it to the hoop
and probably a little bit better in ballhandling.

For us...

I am only focusing on these 5. I don't think Beasley will be a great NBA'er and none of the bigs look too enticing.

For the Blazers, going by need instead of BPA:

Beasley would be behind right Rose, if we were picking BPA.

It looks more and more like we will be picking at #13, and I'd much rather trade that pick and some of our youth for a proven PG that fits our age bracket (23-28). If we're hellbent on picking a player, my personal favorite is DJ Augustin.
