He said that personally tonight at Buenafuente show by "La Sexta", half an hour ago.

Likely they post the interview later.

great news if it's true!

after all the reports about the money he could make in europe and he still comes to portland, I'd have one question: how much will Nike be paying him for that endorsement deal?

It won't matter--they'll pay him in Euros and he'll live like a king in Portland :)

don't remind me of the dollar's value. I have about 15% of my 401K in a mutual fund that holds about 1/3 gold and also holds Euros, Swiss franks, and Swiss government bonds as other primary assets. I almost went "all-in" into it about 16 months ago...but I was too smart for that...sheeeesh...why oh why didn't I just do it. 15% smart can't make up for 85% dumb (sounds like your travis argument)

Great news, but he could be blowing smoke. This is definitely a great sign though.

I do mostly Asia and emerging markets myself. Watch out for gold--the major difference between it and other investments is that gold is a placeholder for value but doesn't generate returns on its own. I prefer stocks since companies can actually do something to increase their own value, while gold can't.

Who cares about you guy's personal investmets! Go to a blog that cares, for crying out loud!....

As far as Rudy, this news is good news. Whether or not it's just to get more offers from his present team, Paul has deeper pockets. Bring the bidding on! Can't wait to see our lineup next year, minus Jack and Outlaw!

Late.

The only placeholder for value I have is my pockets and they are usually empty.

that's basically why I didn't go heavy into the fund even though it's generally a conservative allocation. Gold has run up a lot since I was so smart a year and a half ago. Now if I buy it's absolutely guaranteed to go down...so I'll just dither about my bad luck and do nothing!

Come for the breaking Rudy news, stay for 401k advice :P.

Terrific news if true! Rudy would be huge for us next year.

The only time to buy gold would've been five years ago, when the dollar started to slip and taxes between the Euro and Dollar after the exchange rate were close to 2-1. When I was in Italy in 2006 and Spain in 2005, the dollar wasn't so kind to me. Now, gold is near an all-time high and will be at an all-time high pretty soon, but by then no one will have an actual money to buy it because we'll be in a depression and the dollar will be worth nothing. (Econ. buddy of mine said the 5th largest investment firm in the U.S. just folded on the market. Not a good sign.

What is a good sign is that Rudy will probably be a Blazer next year. Phil Knight should sign him to a sick Nike deal and market both him and Sergio in Spain against Gasol and Navarro. That way, it will rekindle the Blazer-Laker rivalry by having the young'ns go up against the vets. from Spain. And no one can tell me Navarro, in free agency, won't sign with the Lakers for cheap. Tell me he's not a perfect fit for 20 minutes off the bench in that system.

Thats great news, I cant wait to see Rudy and Sergio playing together, I just wonder if Rudy will eventually start or be a 6th man type player like Outlaw who gets a lot of minutes off the bench. It would be good if Rudy and Roy could mesh well in the backcourt, then we wouldnt even have to worry about the PG situation. At least on the youtube videos he looks like a decent passer anyway, if he has good handles then he would be great next to Roy I think. Maybe Sergio can teach him some moves.
