It'd be pretty funny if Brand ends up with GS right after Baron signs with the Clips.

We should all pay attention to what Brand decides now. If he goes to the Warriors, then two Western teams have played all their cards to make lateral moves. If he stays with the Clips... that's a team that can cause some damage.

So, the 76ers trade Carney and a future 1st for cap space. Brand and his agent are in Philly. Looks like Brand is likely headed out East. Great news for any fringe playoff teams out West, Golden State and the Clippers probably just lost out on a guy worth about 5 to 10 wins.

The Clips have more cap space now, so they are likely to sign someone else. But still, Brand is better than Baron, so they are worse.

To whoever said Przy got 26 boards against Kaman, Kaman was out that night, Joel was rebounding against 6'9 Josh Powell and Nick Fazekas.

Brand is apparently leaving the Clips for the Sixers.

http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/news/story?id=3479059

NBA front-office sources told ESPN.com on Tuesday that Brand has informed the Sixers that he will accept a five-year deal worth an estimated $82 million and spurn what was presumed to be a slam-dunk return to the Los Angeles Clippers to hook up with Clipper-to-be Baron Davis.

Davis must feel REALLY stupid right about now. This should make Portland's competition substantially easier next year though.

from the ESPN NBA rumor's page

"It's worth mentioning that before guard Baron Davis finally agreed to a five-year, $65-million contract with the Los Angeles Clippers yesterday, his representatives checked out the Knicks' interest in him, a source told Newsday. In May, Newsday reported that Davis, before he decided to opt out of his contract with the Golden State Warriors, reached out through intermediaries to see if the Knicks had any interest in acquiring him in a trade.

"It clearly seemed that New York would have been Baron's first choice if there were a fit," said a person with knowledge of Davis' situation. -- Newsday"
