I would be surprised if they took Przybilla at all so don’t worry about protecting him.

Here's some info about the 2004 draft: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2004_Charl ... sion_draft

wikipedia never lies

Thanks Walton’s Beard! Otherwise I would be angry, not to mention it would be unjust to any of the NBA teams.

They can only select one player from each team, plus you can deal to avoid getting someone taken.
LaMarcus for Heisman!!!

Roster:Lillard/Mathews/Batum*/LA/Lopez

*Its not pronounced with a !@#$ing s, he's french. It's Nico-la, not Nico-las.

The Walking Toothache was let go under the poorly named Allan Houston rule.

I selected...
Pryzbilla
Outlaw
Bayless
Frye
Fernandez

-I think it is absolutely important to keep Joel around to help mentor Oden and would be huge coming off the bench, especially in these early years of Oden's adjustment to the NBA.
-All the other ones should be pretty self explanatory, the only one I was really debated was between Frye and Webster, but than I thought we shouldn't protect two players in one position.

Fixed for levity.

Mamba, Ferguson was a backup SG we signed to a couple of 10-day contracts that year. He was about as vital as Luke Schenscher...you remember him.

There won't be any expansion draft soon unless the Seattle area organizers
manage to do so via lawsuit but in any event, there would be two teams
added for perhaps 4 eight team divisions.

If the expansion draft were held in 2010, we'd have to protect Oden, Roy, LA,
2009 FA acquisition, Rudy, Bayless, Outlaw, and either Batum or either the #1 pick
inn 2009 or 2010. Guys like Frye, Webster, JP would be free agents while the
expansion team to save money might pick guys like Koponen or Freeland.

It was kind of a weak move not to include Batum, since all indications are that we will sign him and he'll play this year. This list would be more ineresting after we know the roster. I really don't know if I'd protect Batum or not. I know he has potential, but I have a hard time seeing him ever realizing that potential with us. Still, it could be a Gerald Wallace-like situation where he just blows up in his new team. (though to be fair most of us thought the Kings were idiots for not protecting him)

Weak move? I suppose, but the fact is KP has still not said for sure whether or not Batum will be here. And besides that, I only have 10 options for a poll. If Batum and Koponen make the roster and you want to make a new poll that includes them and removes Bayless and Rudy, I will not be offended.

I elected to leave Frye exposed and keep Pryz and Webster.

Didn't want to but since SF is less settled than PF I did not want to expose Webster and with Oden still having not played an NBA game I did not want to expose Pryz.

Weren't expansion teams allowed to take potential free agents too? I think they were.
