It's good that Blake and Sergio are doing well but I want to see what this rookie got and just get minutes in garbage time....As well as Diogu. I wished both got about 10min a game.

yeah same here, I really want to see bayless play a lil bit more. He looked good last night despite scoring just 1 point, he was really looking to set his man up. But then again, Sergio has been doing great lately. Eventually Bayless will start for us, just not now or anytime soon.

Yes.

I don't think Blake or Sergio are starting quality. Bayless might be. If so he needs to be developed as soon as possible. If not, the Blazers need to know so they can make a deal.

Diogu is likely in his last NBA season. He has had plenty of chances for different teams and has not developed.

I still think they should send him down to the D-League, just to get some PT. Tell him he can come back when he averages 8 assists per game.

Bayless is not ready to play. We need to get him a few minutes here and there, but it's clear that he doesn't know where to fit in. I have been happy with the passes he's been making in his limited opportunities, but he really doesn't know when to turn on Scoring T-Rex mode and when to pass.

I think the best thing for him is to be at Blazers practice, he needs to learn how to run Nate's offense. From what I hear, he has been aggressive and impressive in practice, he just doesn't know enough to look good in a real game yet.

Bayless wouldn't be able to learn how to run an offense with players who don't know how to finish or where to stand.

No, he has shown just about nothing on the court, except for good defensive intensity. That is a start, but the kid is clearly not ready for big minutes. I expect that he will become a very good player, but he is simply not there yet. He might next year, but let him work his butt off in practice, pick up some garbage time, and watch the nba game a bit more. He hopefully is still developing and learning, but we need to push to make the playoffs, and we would be hindering ourselves by playing Bayless.

well, with guys like roy and rudy and that blake is the starter and that sergio has shown progression it's going to be tough for him to get some mins. i'm sure he earns them, but under nate you never know :D

Those kids in the D-league are not learning to play basketball for the first time. Obviously the offensive abilities are lower, but so are the defenses as well. I'm sure those D-leaguers can handle make a back cut, or curling off of a screen, in which case, Bayless could pass them the ball.

Agreed, he plays rookies when they earn it.. Plus it's easy to keep a rookie on the bench when you already have playing time issues, give it a year guys.

Jerryd will earn playing time but he's clearly not there yet. We have gotten so used to the Blazers playing to develop players... let's be happy we are not at that stage any longer. It's hard to remember that Bayless is getting to practice against Roy and Rudy and the other guys and he is really in a learning year. He'll get on the court at times. The important thing is for Nate to put him in a position to succeed. I agree that they could have gotten him out there earlier last night but only by a few minutes. 12-15 minutes instead of 6-8 minutes of garbage time isn't going to make much of a difference.

Personally BAyless looks a little lost and very sloppy out there. Right now i prefer Sergio and Blake to him. I view Bayless as a key part of our future, but right now i care about winning and Sergio/Blake are helping us do that.

Did you watch Bayless? He couldn't get to the hoop and looked a long ways from being ready. I'm truly shocked that as quick as he looked in the summer league, he couldn't break down chicago's defense, even in garbage time. I know he wants to play and I would like to see what he can become, but to play him now will only risk hurting his confidence

It's hard to say anything about him when he's playing so few minutes. He clearly doesn't look comfortable on the floor.

Yes I wish bayless was playing more.

BUT for Boise (Idaho Stampede) in the NBDL.
I think it would do him good to play 30 minutes a game at just the PG position.
I really would like to see him on the Stampede's squad for opening night Saturday the 29th.

Re-evaluate him at the trade deadline on whether he then should get a call back up.

Most of our games have been pretty tight. Play Bayless more and we might be .500 or lower. He should have had more than 6 minutes yesterday. Nate shoulda got him in in the 3rd and let him play the whole 4th.

His time will come and if we can build big leads (or get blown out) we will see him more. Otherwise it will only be in very limited minutes for the meantime.

Bayless has all the talent to become
a starter, I just think it will take awhile
for him to get there because of the
offense. Bayless's O game is loose &
he has to structure it now.. .but to
answer the question, yes 6mpg pls!!
