Man there hasnt been any activity on this board in almost 3 weeks. Anyone else extremely excited for the upcoming season? Was hoping to see some more buzz here.
Longest playoff drought in the NBA, and it looks like this season might be the season to finally end that while also possibly finding our future face of the franchise. im expecting fox to breakout. sabonis to have a big season his first full year in sacramento. davion to take another step. keegan to show he was worth it and absolutely the correct pick over ivey. i cannot wait.

Being on the East Coast, I am surprised there is not a little more fandom in Sacramento, even if the franchise (like Charlotte) has been a perpetual also-ran. Four pre-season games coming up in early October. Start for training camp has not been announced yet.

very tough for me to find great kings talk here one the east coast. have never ran into another fan by me here in nj, and none of the message boards ive come across are too active. we finally look to be turning a corner and this the maybe the most dead board on realgm. its surprising to me.

Same here. I have followed Charlotte off and on for many years, and they always have a dedicated (if cynical) fan base. I am excited to see the reunion of the Fox and Monk show. It should be fun. They were amazing together in college. I also like what I have seen from Keegan Murray.
One big question is who will start at power forward? I would not be surprised to see Holmes and Sabonis teaming up together at center and power forward, respectively. That would bump Harrison Barnes (a Tar Heel) over to small forward and add a lot of length to balance Fox and Monk.

Re: Excited for the Season
I wouldn't give up on the forum, but not likely to get many responses until closer to the start of the season unless a major trade happens.
Some of the guys hangout at Reddit, the other Kings board elsewhere is probably busy if you like to only give positive feedback about the franchise.
Tons of Kings fans hang out here in the Trades & Transaction forum area when trade talks get going. Some of the more popular threads there are Kings related. But right now, not much to talk about even there.

I'm really excited for the season simply because I miss watching the Kings. I think I probably have lower expectations than many: barring Keegan being a rookie of the year candidate, I think we're still looking at a fringe play-in team. Not much different than last season. But a lot of that is probably just getting burned too many times thinking that this team was ready to turn the corner.

Agreed about the trades & transaction part. Much of the excitement the past few years has been seeing potential trades for us.

I hope a big trade happens this year, because the sooner the keys are given to Keegan, the better

Re: Excited for the Season
After two blowout preseason victories, in which both the first and second teams looked solid, things are looking up in Sacramento. I looked at the early season schedule, though, and it is brutal. The Kings need to keep close to .500 during October and the first two weeks of November.

Yep, the early season schedule is brutal. No excuses though. They have run out of them. If this team wants to make the POs then they need to play at least .575 ball and, as you say, they need to be close to .500 (I actually think it needs to be at least .500) during tough stretches. No losing streaks this season, you lose a game, go get the next one.
There isn't a team that finished behind the Kings that will leapfrog them. Utah and SA will drop below the Kings which would give them 10th. If they want to finish sixth though they have to leapfrog several teams that were better last season and got better during the off season.
