Game 59: Kings (30-28 @ Rockets (37-22)
We head on to H-Town to face off against the Rockets and will be without Domas in this one. Tough task but there is where the Valanciunas pickup becomes even more valuable. Tough task ahead but every win in March will be important.

Malik is a total negative, his T isn’t needed

If he won't accept a bench role, we should trade him this summer. He is not a starting point guard, was so obvious when we made the trade

The Kings haven’t had a set the table, playmaking PG for ages and a lot of the O goes through Domas and the guards/forwards, and I guess it’s still debatable if that’s needed. Malik has looked good with certain lineups in the past, but he has been bad since the trade

I know its 1 game and this will be controversial, but JV gives you 90% what you get out of sabonis + more rim protection and a much bigger team.
I absolutely love Sabonis work and hustle, I just think he's closer to a 3rd guy then a teams best player. He makes too much.
Great game by keon. And 13 teams for the team, 5 blocks. Laravia had moments. I need more mins from Fultz, he could be good for us.

It's more so to do with the team build. If LaVine is here for the long haul, I think you need a real pg and more size. 1 of demar/monk can be the 6th man but probably not room for both.

Solid W. JV will get to audition over the next 3-5 weeks looking at that Sabonis string.
And can I just say, thank goodness for Keon Ellis and Keegan Murray. Great defensive games by these two and JV was decent on that end too.
You have to feel for Sengun when the other 4 starters combine for 17/51.
See what happens when you take out one of the Turnover Trio? It becomes simply Loose Handles. turnovers are holding this team back at the moment, which is strange because of how good they were at the start. If you can guarantee six wins every eight games with the turnovers, who cares though right.

Agree here. Lavine needs a real PG next to him and if we can keep Monk and he accepts a bench role that would be dynamic. Trade Deebo and get some size in here.
Don't be surprised if Fultz is the starting PG here next season. BUT none of this alleviates the fact Keon should be starting (and I say this with the realisation that Keegan needs to be a 3). I don't care what the +/- says in this game. Keon Ellis changed this game for the better.
The only way I see it happening is if Keon starts as the PG and Lavine is a carrier and Domas takes over the offense again.

Keon is an absolute game changer. Fultz would be interesting he's always been solid and plays defense, but he never stays healthy. Good 25 game audition to see if he's worth keeping around.
For now I'll enjoy the w, I hope this team continues to roll, I want them to be great. I hope monk goes on a crazy hot stretch and learns how to be a starting point guard.
