No

a) Artest is a far superior player
b) The Kings don't need another longterm salaried player
c) The Kings do not need another wing player (Hedo is NOT a PF)

Otis Smith made it clear last year he doesn't want to take on any questionable character guys (Ron's being questionable generally). Plus Hedo is already such a fit and valuable player in Orlando.

I'd do it/be okay with it, Kings would do it. But the Magic wouldn't.

With Rashard Lewis in town IMO Turk is expandable. He's playing great this season as well so I can understand shopping him.

I don't like the deal however. Doesn't Francisco Garcia remind you a little bit of a young Hedo?

HELLLL NO...Hedo's had a great year, but that doesn't mean I trade a player that has CONSISTENTLY been far superior than him in Hedo's UP year. We're very familiar with Hedo's player, he's great, but he's not Ron Artest great.

if you really think Artest is better than Turk then you don't how Basketball works.

Turk is actually a playmaker, who can create his own shot as well as create scoring opportunities for his teammates. You can actually run your offense through Turk.

That alone makes him better than Artest, who is definitely not that type of player.

Yyyyes he is. The Kings have run their offense through Ron successfully several times this year.

The problem with this kind of argument is that we have had both, and know their tendencies. We had Hedo first. He is a good player, but if you think he has the same playmaking ability as Artest than you are just not watching the games. Hedo can not carry a team, ever. Artest has, and has consistently before (Spring 2006).

What's the incentive for the Kings to do this?

Are you freaking kidding me? We drafted Hedo, WE KNOW AND LOVE HIS GAME. And he's had a GREAT season. But there is noway in hell that Hedo could even hold Artest's jock on the basketball court, this is like comparing Ricky Davis to Paul Pierce. It's just not even close.

I wouldn't HATE it, but if that trade happened, it would be pretty apparent that the Kings didn't have alot offers on the table for Artest...and that no one wanted KT, even if it meant getting Artest for "free".

EDIT: The real reason why I wouldn't like it is because we have plenty of wing players and have no need for Smith or Najera...but at least we get a 1st out of it. Like I said, if that's the best thing on the table...

I wouldnt cut myself but i would love to know the other offers that were on the table after the fact so i would know for sure that Smith and Najera along with a pick, was the best deal available.

EDIT: lol skaterdude just said the same exact thing anyway.

Yeah, I'm so sad we traded the only franchise player we ever had in Turkoglu for Miller

Seriously, he's not THAT good. He's a product of Howard and Lewis getting him open looks and a good coach. Yeah he has some natural ball handling/passing skills but he's not as good as Artest. And he's not nearly as good DEFENSIVELY.
