He really wasn't having a great game and he really wasn't needed. Besides, the game was decided fairly early in the 4th. Why should he be playing garbage time?

I dont really understand Theus' logic...I know he wasnt having a great game but if I was Theus I still let Martin play through the struggle and try to shake it off IMO...Martin is argubally our best player in this team but he gets only 24 minutes? Eh, the only positive thing from this is that Martin should be well rested until the Suns game (Sat)...

Well I would argue that Artest is clearly our best player and he only got 26 minutes against the Lakers on Sunday. There has been nothing inconsistent or illogical with Theus' decisions as of late. He has been playing the guys who are getting the job done and he is benching the guys who are not. Martin was not tonight, so his reward was the bench. Blame Theus all you want for Martin's performance tonight if it makes you feel better...it is easier than questioning whether Martin is really THAT good. However I really don't think there is anything in his personnel decisions tonight that really warrant questioning (maybe the decision to play Moore over Shelden, but I can understand that there are other factors in that decision).
This space needs to be filled with a new sig...but I'm too lazy to make one.

I like Kevin's game a lot. But when he is not scoring the ball his value drops. Cisco is a better defender, rebounder and ball handler so he gets the minutes if Kevins shot is not falling.

Solid, solid win

Ron played a terrific game on both ends of the floor (including effective defense against Aldridge on selected possessions). So much for Ron being sat for the year. Grant's hypocrisy is funny.

Beno aside from the 6 TOs, played a strong game, continues to impress me and sell me

Glad to see Salmons play well off the bench (like he's capable of)

Enjoyed how Hawes played, loved that right to left switch post score on Pryzbilla.

Kevin from what I picked up just finally got shut down by the Blazers. Part of that is on him, as well, I'd guess. Didn't get to the basket much. But Kevin does have to strengthen his game outside of scoring. He's absolutely improved his rebounding, but he needs more to fall back on when he can't get points going. I don't expect him to be as good as Manu, but just as an example against the Nuggets lately, Manu had 14 assists but didn't score or shoot well (just 13 pts). Kevin has the ball in his hands quite a bit, too.

Quincy played a very good game in 8 minutes

Well, remember last year when Kevin was struggling, not being aggressive enough, or getting torched defensively (or a combination of them), Musselman brought in Salmons or Garcia for Martin. Where they took advantage and played better than Kevin was playing on both ends.

This happened multiple times (also happened with Bibby multiple times, and brought in one of the other point-players/guards).

Similar thing tonight.

Agreed. And, Kevin over the last two seasons, has had several of these kind of games now. Where he's too quiet or disappears. Either by the defense taking him off or himself not being aggressive enough.

Like I've said before, he needs to expand his game, and lessen these type of games.

I'm not sure how his defense was tonight. I didn't pay attention.

Today was just one of those days for Kevin. Dribbling off his leg, missing layups, etc.

Besides, Reggie probably wanted to know how Cisco handled important minutes. Part of the evaluation thing, IMO. We have so many SGs that in order to evaluate them all, Martin's going to have to sit sometimes.

I just want this team to finish off the year strong, and on a positive note. I know the Kings will be a way better team next year.. if they keep Ron Artest..

Hmm...well we are actually about where we were last year right now. If we keep it the same I have a strong feeling we will be....about the same next year.
