NY question

Post#1 » by JAX » Mon Apr 21, 2008 3:22 am

would you guys consider this trade w/ the Knicks.

Reef/KT/Williams
for
Zach Randolph and Mardy Collins

NY's incentive is to shed the last year of ZBos contract and rebuild. ZBo, stats wise, should make SAC a threat for a playoff spot if someone in the West slips up. You guys got it hard though, POR and GST are good and didn't make it. Good luck.

Eh I'll take the cap relief we have coming I think. Zach is a good player but he doesn't make us any better IMO because his D is so bad, and therefor is a bad fit with Spencer/Miller. We'd get killed by Gasol/Bynum(or Odom), Yao/Scola, etc. western big man combos just like we do now. So I don't think it makes a difference for us really.

Im always against Zach to Sacramento, even though Zach is actually a good player but his game is really quite opposite that we trying to achieve. Which is post defense, rebounding and etc. He is known as a blackhole on offense and his contract makes him unwanted here.

K9/SAR's contract are horrible but they are expirings within 2 years along with Moore. So, I rather wait until that time thus major capspace in 2010.

If we could get a psych eval that says Zach will be a team player and play some D I'd be for it!

I think the trade is more than fair value wise, I happen to think more of Zach Randolph than most. As said though I don't know if he really makes us that much better. Maybe a borderline 8th seed. Big whoop. It's puts off a more than necessary rebuild and takes minutes away from the young guys even moreso.

I would not welcome a guy like Randoph to sac. I dont think he is the defenisive presence that this team needs and he is to much of a problem in the locker room and outside as well. Im all for giving guys a second chance but he has been given multiple. He costs to much $$$ anyway..

Because of the contract and attitude, Zach isn't that much better a choice for Sacramento than SAR & KT.

That leaves Williams for Mardy Collins, which is a clear no.

Change collins to Lee and the Kings consider IMO.

I've said it before and I'll say it again: There is no combination of players on the Kings that I would trade for Randolph--not even a package of Kenny, Shareef, & Moore.

Randolph is a no defense, blackhole on the court and a cancer off it (and on it as well). In no way would I rather have Randolph over the cap space in 2 years when our bad contracts come off the books (vs. another full year for Randolph to expire).

Randolph is 1 of the absolute last players the Kings need on this team.

You wouldn't consider a Reef/KT/Williams for Randolph/Lee package?

That's probably the ONLY one I could swallow. I hate Randolph, but I'd roll the dice with that because we get Lee. If Randolph doesn't work out, sit his butt down and work on a buy out. At least we have our rebounding issue fixed and our PF situation looks better between Moore/Lee. Draft a PG and we're in business.

I don't like Lee either. He's atrocious defensively and he has no jumpshot. Honestly, I think of Lee as a glorified Reggie Evans. He rebounds really well but he's a liability just about everywhere else on the court.

The only trade that would make me want to take Randolph would be an inclusion of their pick--that's it.

Same here, although I do disagree about Lee. Zach's contract would basically make it so that if we re-sign Cisco and Beno, and don't trade our picks, that we wouldn't have any cap space in '10, whereas without his contract, we could potentially have the cap space to do some damage.

Oh and "statistically" Zach should have helped the Knicks make the playoffs, but that sure as hell didn't happen.

As I said in another thing, I think our defense is okay, IF WE WOULD REBOUND. Getting a big time rebounder would go a long way to disguise many of our liabilities defensively.

Petrie cut that player so we could get rid of Bibby. I think Petrie is allergic to rebounders.

Return to Sacramento Kings
