But, relating to 3 (at least the beginning), 4, 5 years, I expect the team to be relative to balance and being versatile offensively. Around to it, anyway.
Well of course you want to be as balanced as possible. I think people really make the game out to be more complicated than it really is.
I think the most important part is for the young guys to improve their OWN games first and foremost. Which is why I think we have to rebuild and put the emphasis on individual improvement as opposed to overall team improvement. You have to learn to walk before you run and putting them on a veteren team in the role of a role player only hinders their development. I'd rather the
players themselves become as well rounded as possible, not necessarily our offensive concept at this point.
Now as for style? I don't give a crap as long as Spencer gets a chance to improve in every way on the floor, from every spot on the floor (because he really can do it all, a super well rounded big if there ever was one), and the same goes for the others. It just so happens I do think they can work together in a team oriented offense, so good! But that shouldn't be the focus right now, just as with picking a player that that may fit more of a need over a more talented player. If it is then we should draft whoever makes a good sidekick for Ron Artest or Brad Miller. But that's just too (Please Use More Appropriate Word) to even fathom, so....Then again we might be able to get both. The rule of thumb is that if you are picking at the end of the lotto you should pick based on need, but this may be as deep a draft as last year so I don't think that should be the intent. Of course, there are a few chances to kill two birds with one stone this year.
