dont think that works salary wise. it would need to be Camby for Artest + fillers( maybe a serviceable big?). i would do that

I think a lot of it can be run through Spencer, and I think his versatility will lend itself to the offense's versatility. By that I mean that we can run a Princeton-like set with him, but we can also use him in the post when he is more ready in that respect.

I think it's clear though that Theus is pretty desperate to have some kind of consistent post offense. I mean the guy played guys like Kenny, Mikki and Shelden consistently in the post this year, just in an effort to find some kind of post option (since Spencer clearly isn't strong enough yet). I think that shows pretty clearly what he wants.

Thinking about a motion offense centered around Spencer though, it makes me look more at Westbrook--who isn't the best ballhandler in the world, but if we can get him moving off the ball more, we could really use his speed an athleticism in that sense while covering up his ballhandling weaknesses.

The triangle. That is something we can run and have already at times with Spencer that we couldn't and can't with Brad. Brad does a little bit but nobody respects his post up ability for obvious reasons.

And if we are going to run a motion/team offense having a guy like Chris Paul, Steve Nash, or Jose Calderon is pretty much pointless. Way too much firepower in the area of creating that you don't need. We'd be better off having a Bibby/Fisher type of player at the point.

We have all talked about this to death and nothing has really changed since the last time. With the main pieces we have, excluding Ron Artest and a few others, running a motion offense makes by far the most sense.

And Ballings I still think Reggie would like to run. He has said it numerous times and even did it a lot last year when the lineup we had didn't really work best in that environment. Sure, Spencer was able to prove to all the doubters that he can change ends better than people thought and he proved he can work in it but it's not the best way to use him IMO, or most of our other young players for that matter.

I still think if Reggie had complete control we'd be Suns part II. Which isn't all that bad of a style to play for a rebuilding team if you ask me. Look at the Hawks for example. However I don't think Geoff Petrie has the same vision and is going to go for high IQ ball players. Hey, maybe he'll draft or trade for a guy like Anthony Randolph, Joe Alexander, or Donte Greene. At least when we do go "small" or speed up the tempo there may be some potential there to actually....um....be good at it?

Well, short-term, it doesn't really matter to me how we play, just that noticable progress is being made as a whole. Defense included to an extent, and of course continuing as the team gets better, until eventually it's a significant consistency.

But, relating to 3 (at least the beginning), 4, 5 years, I expect the team to be relative to balance and being versatile offensively. Around to it, anyway, where things are being close to set up.

Well of course you want to be as balanced as possible. I think people really make the game out to be more complicated than it really is.

I think the most important part is for the young guys to improve their OWN games first and foremost. Which is why I think we have to rebuild and put the emphasis on individual improvement as opposed to overall team improvement. You have to learn to walk before you run and putting them on a veteren team in the role of a role player only hinders their development. I'd rather the players themselves become as well rounded as possible, not necessarily our offensive concept at this point.

Now as for style? I don't give a crap as long as Spencer gets a chance to improve in every way on the floor, from every spot on the floor (because he really can do it all, a super well rounded big if there ever was one), and the same goes for the others. It just so happens I do think they can work together in a team oriented offense, so good! But that shouldn't be the focus right now, just as with picking a player that that may fit more of a need over a more talented player. If it is then we should draft whoever makes a good sidekick for Ron Artest or Brad Miller. But that's just too (Please Use More Appropriate Word) to even fathom, so....Then again we might be able to get both. The rule of thumb is that if you are picking at the end of the lotto you should pick based on need, but this may be as deep a draft as last year so I don't think that should be the intent. Of course, there are a few chances to kill two birds with one stone this year.

Yeah, the individual part was included there, relating to the younger guys as a whole.
