Kings Consensus Draft 2.0
2008 King's Consensus Draft Round Two
Last Time
We came up with the top 18 players we would draft for the Kings given that we had every draft selection. Now that the lottery is over, combine has happened, and workouts mostly done, and with the draft a week away, lets redo this draft with what we know now.
We are drafting for the Kings and the Kings only
Remenber, this is not a big board, instead we are simulating the possibility and question of who the King's should select.
How it works
First, in order to speed up the process, I will declare 7 players as already drafted
Derrick Rose, Michael Beasley, OJ Mayo, Jerryd Bayless, Kevin Love, Eric Gordon, Brook Lopez
The following players are available for the Kings to draft, due to the possibility of the players slipping or actually being available.
PG: R. Westbrook, D. Augustin, M. Chalmers
SG: B. Rush, C. D. Roberts
SF: A. Randolph, J. Alexander, D. Gallinari, D. Greene, N. Batum
PF: M. Speights, D. Arthur, S. Ibaka, J. Thompson, R. Anderson, J.J. Hickson, A. Ajinca
C : D. Jordan, R. Hibbert, K. Koufos, J. McGee, R. Lopez, N. Jawai
Every person will vote for 1 player they feel they would like the Kings to draft given who is available. When one player receives 5 votes, he is considered drafted, and the next selection goes on. However, each person's vote will carry through to the next round until that player is drafted. Same deal as the last thread.
What it should look like
When you post, keep your actual draft selection in this format
Pick # - Player Name (Number of votes for this player in the round, including yours)
-Any other player (Number of votes for this player, also selected in the given round)
Keep Track of how many times each player has been selected
Results so far...

Re: Kings Consensus Draft 2.0
I feel like assuming Gordon goes before us and not assuming Lopez does is a little short-sighted, but anyways.....
Ehh, I can't decide who I want to vote for right now.

I just went off of DX and Draft.net
Should I add Lopez and Randolph to the list? Or just Lopez?

Probably both. I'd flip if Randolph somehow dropped, but I don't see that happening.

I think there's an excellent chance Randolph falls, so I wouldn't add him. But definitely Lopez.

I agree on Randolph, it all depends on the Knicks. If they go for Gordon then the Clipps will go for Westbrook. Just about every mock has the Bucks taking Alexander and the Bobcats taking Lopez. The Pacers will take Augustine. Hopefully, the Nets take Gallinari and we have Randolph.
Which makes him my pick: Anthony Randolph

Re: Kings Consensus Draft 2.0
Supposedly Milwaukee is deciding between Alexander and Randolph, so that's also a possibility, but we'll see. I agree with the general sentiment that he may not be an ideal fit at PF for us, but he could mean great value at 12.

Re: Kings Consensus Draft 2.0
I think I'll go with Randolph, but for the record, I don't know about the rest of you, but I don't think we should carry over votes into the next round with this one. Or at least, I would like to not have my votes carried over, as I will be very prone to changing my mind. But for now....

Re: Kings Consensus Draft 2.0
This is really hard for me to chose, I do not think the Kings could go wrong with either Randolph or Alexander. I think both fill a position of need and both have huge upside.
With that said I think I will go with Randolph.

Sorry fellows, but I read the draft express mock (which is normally one of the most accurate) after I made my pick. So now I'm changing it.

Re: Kings Consensus Draft 2.0
Tough call. Augustin, Randolph, Speights, Alexander, and Arthur all intrigue me. I also like Westbrook, but I don't think he will be available so I won't even consider him. I'm going to have to go with Arthur. But I wouldn't be upset if we took any of the guys I listed above.

I really think that either Hibbert or Arthur will be kings next year.

Re: Kings Consensus Draft 2.0
I am intrigued by Jason Thompson, let's see if Petrie either trades down and picks up another pick or after using the #12, jumps back in and gets Thompson.
Heard Katz talking about Thompson maybe going to the Kings. Katz is normally pretty reliable.

He works for ESPN and was on ESPN news earlier saying that Jason Thompson has really jumped up on a few boards and that he wouldn't be surprised to see Sacramento take him at 12.
