Of course he has no future--that's not what this is about. This is about getting somebody that can play the position now that will help keep this team's head above water. I'll trust J-Will with that over guys like Livingston or Telfair.

That's the problem, we aren't in need of keeping our heads above the water. We're rebuilding. We have time to take a flyer on a Duhon or a Livingston or Telfair.

Well, I think that's what we're trying to do--at least right now. The fact remains that this is a business, and no casual fan cares if the team is rebuilding. If we suck, we suck, and the arena attendance will be even worse next year. If we remain competitive, it probably won't be a big hurt to our rebuilding because the available young PGs (in FA) probably won't pan out for us anyway.

That would hold back our other young guys. Ron and Kevin and John, yeah they don't really need a PG. They create their own shots. But Thompson, Hawes, Williams, Cisco, they need guys who can recognize when someone's open and make the right pass. If Livingston or Telfair can't make the right pass, or call the right play, or recognize who to pass it to on the break, the way a NBA vet PG can, that will hold our other young guys back. And it's only like he'd be playing 50-65 games, 20-25 minutes, so that Singletary or whoever doesn't have to play the whole game.

Well of course they'd be 1st choice I would think. But if we can't re-sign Beno, J-will is a good spot filler.

I turned on the radio this morning and his name was brought up. A meeting has been planned between the two parties, so there is interest from the Kings.
