Re: Josh Howard/Stackhouse for Artest/K.Thomas?
In my humble opinion...this deal makes no sense of the Kings. Stackhouse is redundant...and would be "negative energy" to this aspiring team. Howard...not as good as Artest...plus clearly he too brings off the court "baggage"...
Yes, would be great to be done with Mr. Thomas...would we benefit at all salary wise by simply cutting him since 1. he will play for us anyhow 2. he is a Kings team cancer presently...

Re: Josh Howard/Stackhouse for Artest/K.Thomas?
BTW if this is true then sign me up because im tired of ron and his BS and this is the best deal i have seen proposed for him so far in terms of made up trades. We also finally get two players we KNOW we can easily trade in the future to eventually get what we need, which is a point guard or Big man for the future next to hawes.
Im sick and tired of waiting for guys the talent of artest to either expire and leave for nothing, or just be trade for absolute crap.

I wouldn't say Thomas is a cancer. That's not fair. Being in the doghouse for the whole year doesn't warrant the status of a cancer. Thomas is actually been a professional throughout this phase. He doesn't complains about it or etc...

Good Points on Thomas regarding my "cancer" adjective...
I agree I was harsh with that term...thanks for your pointing that out...
Still, with the Press it seems Thomas has been the recipient of crud reporting...and how often on these posts do I read about his mannerisms and their negativity...
Plus, going back some years...his approach with SAR regarding who started was not exactly team first...
ps In my prior post, I meant to say that "since he is NOT playing..."
Again...do we benefit at all by simply cutting him? My guess is not at all...

Yeah, I remember the whole Thomas/SAR issue. When Thomas injured his shoulder, SAR started and did a solid job of PF. When Thomas was fully healed, he didn't got his spot. Thus, the whole "pouting" from Thomas...blah blah blah. Anyways, that's in the past.
The only beneficiary thing of cutting him is that it gives us a roster spot. But his contract still counts in the salary cap though. But why cut him? 2 years from now year, he will be a big expiring. Thus, making his deal attractive around the league. We could use him in various trades or simply let him expire (2010) We are aiming at 2010 FA class. So, in that in mind, I would just keep him.

Re: Josh Howard/Stackhouse for Artest/K.Thomas?
thanks for the clarification regarding the KT contract...
we have little need for the roster spot to be opened...
perhaps we should further address HOW KT can help us be successful this year...
I am in the minority when I suggest this Kings team can be VERY good this year, and better in the years to follow...let's get the most of KT...he has a skillset to offer and Theus must make inroads with him I think to bring out a solid KT off the bench Contributing...not sulking

It was just an idea by the radio folks, they were talking about trade possibilities for Dallas.

Yeah, I actually like Thomas, to be honest. And there is a FEW, I mean a FEW that feels the same way. I truly believe if we can utilize Thomas correctly, he can be solid. His rebounding and post defense is an asset for us. When he first cam here, he was a SOLID PF for us. A hustling, rebounding PF. He was a Haslem-like player. But injuries set in. And he never recovered. And inconsistent minutes didn't help either. There is one problem in your request. We have log jam in the PF positions though. Moore, Thompson, Williams, SAR, and Thomas. And sometimes we use Artest as PF as well. So, there is virtually little to no minutes for Thomas. But at earlier in the season, we did start Thomas IIRC. It didn't turn out so well. One reason why because Theus was using Thomas as a post player. That is not Thomas' game. So, Theus gave up the whole "Thomas in the post" experiment. In essence, that's unfair. Either way, Thomas should have capitalize the limited opportunities though. When he came in, there is a turnover coming. I remember saying "Oh **** Thomas is in. Turnover."

What about bringing in the Clips as the third team and swinging Howard to them and Thornton to us and leaving the rest of the deal intact (so salaries match appropriately?
i like that a LOT better and you probably could get them to bite as I recall howard lit them up a couple of times real good the last two years.

Artest for Wright or Al? Of Course yes.
I wonder what Clips are going to be doing now that Brand is reportedly agreeing to go to Philly.
Do they make a quick push or rebuild completely.
Lol, They'd be better off, just stop signing and hoping to land two top 5 picks and lebron, but knowing their luck, they'll probably end up with two number 10 picks and larry hughes

I just stumbled across this thread and was going to see what your thoughts were on a Stack/Bass for Artest deal.
And I hadn't heard any radio stuff here in Dallas about this kind of deal.

Absolutely not. Two fillers for Artest? No thanks.
We already have enough subpar PFs and have no need for Stackhouse.

That's totally fine, just asking.
I don't see the main suggested trade having much in terms of legs either.

The Sac bee is reporting the Lakers called about Ron again, and appear willing to trade Odom now. We'll see.

yay
Generally I love Odom, but I'd rather let Ron walk than do that trade.
Not changing my mind here either, so there isn't any need for sway attempts.
