Yeah, I alluded to that Salmons-size-SF earlier... don't know if it could work over a longer period, depends how the team is and how it goes in 3-4 years.
The Playoffs don't care about your Analytics

Re: Ben Gordon to SAC
After Chris Webber got hurt...again Peja tried to carry the team with little help. And look what happened he was traded for Ron Artest. And now he is on the Hornets just straight ballin' it up with Chris Paul and company. Kevin Martin needs another scorer he can not do it alone. You never know last year could just be a fluke. He is just too young and too unproven to make him the center piece of the Kings' offense going into the next 3-5 years just on last year alone.

John's size won't be a big issue. I mean if you're going to say that, you could really say that about anybody. Everybody has their mismatches.

Yes it will when he tries to guard 6'10" starting SF's who basically just post up and turn and shoot over him (or just shoot over him). What do you think was Peja's biggest advantage? And that doesn't even get to guys like Rashard Lewis or Odom. That just wouldn't work.

Re: Ben Gordon to SAC
Gordon is a fine basketball player
However, he has an inflated value of himself. He's demanding at least $10 million a season based on what he turned down last season.
Word is that no GM is interested in him at that price & Ben is expected to take the Qualifying Offer 0f $6.4 million

The gem cannot be polished without friction, nor man perfected without trials.

And guys that are big enough to guard the bigger SFs (although both of the ones you just mentioned play PF) are going to be too slow to guard quicker SFs, so pick your poison. There are very, very few Ron Artests in the world.

I agree, which is why I constantly maintain here that - head issues out the window - the return value on a trade had better be really good to make us interested. Who knows? Once again last year we had the typical Sac season losing a HUGE number of games to injury in our four premier players. You cut out even 50% of that number (I think it was about 140-150 player games last season) and we are most likely fighting for the 7/8 spot in the west and at around a 50 win level. that may sound exaggerated, and it may well be, but what I saw last year led me to belive that it was entirely possible. Kevin has become one of the three most efficient scorers in the league - and that has been recognized now nationally. Ron is truly the most talented two-way player in the league right now. i NEVER thought I'd see Brad Miller post ONE 20 rebound game let alone TWO and multiple mid/high teens ones. john showed that although he IS more of an iso offensive guy, you need that on the good teams and he delivered. And Cisco is truly becoming a nice multi-talented mid-size guy who has balls of steel.
