Bonzi...

Post#1 » by jasonmlit » Thu Jul 24, 2008 7:35 pm

First off, I would like to welcome myself back after a loooooong hiatus.

Second, Bonzi looks like he may be available. Talk amongst yourselves.

We have no need for Bonzi at all. With Martin/Salmons/Garcia/Artest/Douby...where would he get his mintues?

True, but if it wasn't for Bonzi leaving, Martin would have never got major minutes and become a star, and the future, of the Kings.

No, Bonzi would be superfluous.

No. Just no.

This has been discussed to death before. It's like saying "hey, Peja and Webber are available and they were scary good on the floor together". You can't go back to the past and force even a good thing to happen again. We have moved on and are rebuilding into the next "scary good" incarnation of the Kings.

Just not any room. We'd be more of a last resort option for him, anyway, if there was room.

If Kevin Martin were the future of the franchise I don't think there would be much discussion on what to do next!

Bonzi is done!

Wow Bonzi really blew it when he turned down Petrie's offer a couple years ago. How much money did Bonzi lose out on? Nobody will pay Bonzi very much, doesn't even seem like any team even wants him. Stupid people tend to make stupid decisions.

I think somebody will sign him because he's definitely a proven, still effective player... but he needs to have a bigger role than he mostly had with the Hornets. He also needs to be on a team with enough 3PT shooters.

I can actually really see Detroit going after the Bonzi Show... they were pursuing him significantly with the MLE or part of it back in the summer of 06.

He'd be nice off the bench as a 7th/6th man, and give them another offensive dimension... as well as good size and toughness on the wing.

I think Bonzi will end up in Detroit along side you know who ...... Artest. Detroit will unite them both back together again. Those two feed well off of eachother and together present match-up problems for a lot of teams. In my opinion, if I were Dumars Its worth the risk. Detroit has to try and do something they can't just stay pat again with the team they have. Question is who will the KINGS get in return for Artest?.... Prince?

Lets imageine..
Assuming the trade is Artest/Williams for Prince

Billups / Stuckey
Hamilton / Wells
Artest / Johnson
Mcdyess / Maxiell
Wallace / Williams

I can say that group can beat the Celtics, and imagine a lineup of Billups/Wells/Artest/Williams(Maxiell)/Wallace on the floor.. the other team will be intimidated and probably sore the next day

Exactly. If Detroit unites Artest and Wells together again they would have a decent shot at getting back to the finals again. Other teams would have a very difficult time matching up against them because all those guys can postup on the block and rebound and defend. It would be very interesting to watch that team. Like I said if I were Dumars I'd pull the trigger and take the risk.

But how does Dumars explain a trio of Wells/Artest/Wallace to the fans? Bad Boys II?

With WINS.... Winning games has a way of winning fans over. BAD BOYS II (BB2) would sell more tickets then what they're selling now. Given all the other rumors about Dumars shopping all his players this is the one that makes the most sense for Detroit.

I think all those guys are definitely mature enough now where they aren't going to be wild like they were in their immature days.

Especially considering the great team situation that they'd have. I'd actually be surprised if the team just gets destroyed by one or a combination of them.

I'd love to watch that team, though.
