Kings/Wizards?

Post#1 » by KM44 » Tue Aug 5, 2008 5:08 am

So I am really bored during the summer, so why not think of possible brad Miller trades? Someone said something about what the kings wanted for Miller, so I started to think about teams who finish around 17-24 every year in the draft, and the perfect team to fit that was the Wizards in my mind. I looked at their roster and thought that miller would fit in quite well, so I thought of a couple possible trade scenarios:

Miller and Douby for Haywood, Songaila and 1st round pick (top 15 pro)

B-jax and songaila, back to the old kings. We get a first and a big body

Miller for Thomas, McGee and 1st round pick (top 15 pro)

Young talent and a pick w/filler. Not very likely for the wizards to agree, but possible

Miller and Douby for Haywood, Songaila and Blatche

Same as first, but with Blatche instead of a pick

It is fairly late, so the coherence might not be there, but these are just a few combinations that I think might work. If they don't seem suiting to our liking, then be my guest and ignore it, but try to think in this direction where teams could trade away a mid/late first with filler/possible help.

Haywood should be their starting center. He is the only really good defender on their team that I can think of. Other situations probably make more sense.

Of them the one I like is the Miller for Thomas, Mcgee and the 1st.

Thomas ends the same as Brad would have so no added room past 2010.
Mcgee is an interesting Defensive big who could block some shots off the bench.
Another 1st is always good.

I'd def be willing to throw in Douby if they wanted, he could learn from Gilbert what it means to be a real combo guard.

Yeah, I like the Miller for Thomas/Mcgee/1st deal as well. But would the Wizards relinquish their rookie quickly? Well, they are in a win-now situation and Miller would be a good fit for them. Their coach (EJ) runs sets of the Princeton Offense. Miller would be in an ideal situation.

I like McGee. He was like my darkhorse pick. I like his potential.

Haywood was the starter but probably because Thomas was out all year. Although Haywood has improved tremendously on defense, I think Thomas is a better defender.

Arenas/Butler/Jamison/Miller/Haywood

Would that lineup work?

I would love to get McGee. I think he has a ton of potential. Even though we have a lot of big men, he would be alright because he is not ready for NBA minutes yet.

Haywood has statistically proven to be an outstanding post defender. If you ask any Wizards fan, they would take Haywood over Thomas 10 times out of 10. It seems like, more than anything, EJ just has some weird fascination with Etan that lead to him getting way too many minutes over the years in relation to Haywood.

Etan's a better defender.

I just can't see Brad Miller getting us this kind of value in return. McGee and a 1st might be close, but I don't think the Wiz would do that even if Brad is the kind of big Eddie would love to have.

No, no he's not. The Wizards got much better defensively this year, and it's due in part to Haywood having a bigger role. They're about equal off the ball, but on the ball, Haywood is one of the absolute best post defenders in the league.

I would pull the trigger on Miller for McGee and a 1st. Basically, if we are trading Brad, I'd like to see the same kind of deal we got for Ron - youth with potential, expiering, and a pick. Washington is in a win now situation, Miller would help them

I think Wizards fans would **** a brick if they saw those deals. Haywood = GOD and is a top 10 center and way better than Brad Miller. If anything the Kings would have to give up an unprotected pick :rocking:

Yeah, Haywood is an elite post defender. I seen how Haywood plays post defense. Very, very good. And it was even proven as well by Wiz fans. Too bad EJ has horrible substitution patterns. Like starting Etan over Haywood. Dang.

Well I'm glad these trades weren't complete flops. The Haywood thing is right, I was comparing thomas and haywood, and the trade would be blown out of the water if haywood was included. I think it could be a possibility that we could give them a starting center/PF and allow Haywood to come off the bench or start next to miller. So I will take this over to the Wizards board with a Thomas/Mcgee/1st.

I like this deal, but I would much rather trade Mikki Moore than Brad Miller. Moore is taking too many minutes from young guys.

What is his contract situation? According to hoopshype he is an expiring, is this true?

I like this deal I think that Thomas is an improvement to Brad Miller. And adding McGee and a 1st round draft pick just puts a cherry on top.

Thomas isn't better than miller, and that would be the reason why we would get McGee and a first.
