I mean heck, Matt Barnes is a nice player--probably not much worse than Cisco, and he only got a minimum contract.

Times are changing. What are the Kings going to do when CSKA Moscow or Olympiakos comes calling? Cisco is exactly the type of player that would dominate in a Euroleague, much like Anthony Parker of the Raptors did. Cisco isn't just another athletic wing on the market like Barnes or Pietrus, he's got legitimate offensive talent plus is an above average defender. As a bonus, he flourishes in virtually every role we put him in because of his versatility; point forward, spot up shooter, off the bench sparkplug, etc. He's a top 10 player in his draft class, IMO.

I'd prefer it if the Kings would be able to negotiate a deal this summer. But, like you said, if Cisco's agent is haggling for a pricey tag, then it may not be possible. But it is a sticky situation nonetheless

I actually think this is a smart move by the Kings. They can let the market determine what he is worth. While I would hate to see him leave since he is one my favorite players, he may not be worth what he is looking for, and if the Kings are looking at the 2010 offseason we are going to need as much money as we can get to go after big name players. However, if we can get Garica back fro a 6 year 30 to 32 million contract I think it would be a great move.

Kind of Kings-related, Darryl Watkins got a 2-year deal with the Spurs :)

I thought he'd just get a regular training camp shot and be up in the air, but now it looks to be notably more than that. I think he's going to get some chances to play, at least.

Well, I think that counts, I guess? :D

But yeah, I always liked Darryl Watkins. He performed well with us in the SL couple years ago. He is a hustling, defensive big that can hit the mid J. I hated that when we have to cut him...But he signed to a classy organization, which is good for Watkins. I hope he flourishes for the Spurs. :)

Well, it's non-guaranteed, the key thing is if it's November/late October or January for the fate

Well, I believe that Watkins can make a contribution for the Spurs team if he performs well. Like Inc said, he can be Thomas' replacement but lets see what he can do.
