We just signed him to be part of our Training Camp roster, can you tell me anything about his game? Much appreciated.

A hard hustling rebounder/shot-blocker. I really think that he has a role in the NBA, and the W's under Don Nelson might actually be the ideal situation for his particular skill set to shine. He is not going to give you much of anything offensively besides dunks and put-backs, but he is also not going to take shots that a better shooter should be taking. I don't for a moment say that he is somehow going to suddenly become an all-defensive team player, but as a b/u insurance for say Biedrins, you should notice very little drop off in that type of defensive intensity.

His main problem is basketball IQ. He often times just isn't in the right places on the floor. His offense is sufficient for what you'd expect out of him. He can't do much but finish, but he is quite a good finisher. His defense over all is average. He'll block a couple shots every now and then, but he also struggles at times because he doesn't always know where to be, and he's undersized for a center. His biggest strength is his rebounding IMO. His hustle and great athleticism really show here.

I agree with all the positives about Justin but Look for him to go for blocks alot, when he should just simply stay down and move his feet on defense.

Overall he's not an NBA quality player. He rebounds and hustles so well that he has been able to stick around the league.

Justin Williams Info Required

Post#7 » by BigSlam » Thu Oct 16, 2008 2:52 am

Hi guy's. The Bobcats just signed Justin Williams and we were wondering if you might be able to give us an insite to his abilities and short comings.

It would appear that he is a Stro Swift like shot blocker/rebounder who can bang a little but doesn't have much of an offesive game to speak of.

Anything you insiders might be able to add?

Thanks in advance.

Sorry guys, I just looked down the page and saw that the GSW boys asked the same thing not that long ago.

Mods, please merge this with that!

fan favorite here. He's an extremely athletic, rebounding/shot blocker type. He's a specialist for sure, but he'll stick for the fact that he can REBOUND and BLOCK SHOTS at an elite level. The rest of his game, esecially offensive BBALL IQ are severely lacking.

Hey, one was when he was a member of the Warriors, the other was directly after being cut. Completely legitimate analysis on my part, if you ask me. ;-)
