Hawes...
Do you guys think Hawes will take over the starting C job?He has had a good statistical pre season and he had good games when he started last yr.Also, you guys seem to be moving in a different direction and BMiller isnt included IMO,so do you think BMiller will get benched or traded this yr?And if Hawes does take over how much mpg and what stats do you think he could avg?

Re: Hawes...
He will start the first 5 games while Brad serves his suspension, but he will not be a permanent starter. He has not earned that yet; he's too inconsistent still and lacks bulk to really hold inside position against bigger centers. The only way Hawes becomes a starter is if Miller is traded.
This space needs to be filled with a new sig...but I'm too lazy to make one.

Alright thanks. But I was just offered a trade where I would be receiving Garcia,I know he is out 2-4weeks but when he comes back do you think he will be getting around 30mpg?He just got a new contract and Artest left but it seems like Salmons will start and get the majority of the min. What do you think he will avg this upcoming season???BTW the offer is MY Redd and Haslem for Garcia and Horford.

Garcia will have a solid 6th-man role and should easily get the higher side of 25-30 minutes per game backing both Salmons and Martin. Garcia will give you more defensive value than Redd (more blocks and steals) while Redd will give you more scoring with better freethrow shooting.

Hawes right now is better than Miller. He will put 17/10/4ast/2blocks if he starts. There will be lots of up and down with him since he is young in the last 2 games he put up 26/16/5ast in 40 min and 1/1/1/1 in 17min. I think Hawes is the best big guy right now, Miller is the #2 big guy and Shelden are pretty close to #3 right now. If we are not at .500 by the trade deadline with Miller-Hawes combo I would say unload Miller and go with the Hawes-Williams who are pretty complimentary bigs and try for a homerun in free agency or a trade. We will see what Thompson and Greene can do also. But I am telling you I do not see dominant teams in the West this year. With Williams to body up on Bynum when needed, we match up well against the Lakers this year. Same with the Spurs we have no real advantage against us. Hawes looked solid in both games against the Rockets. Suns and Mavs are too old. These predictions are all PM only though, that means Post Mikki! Hawes-Miller will be solid.

I think you being a bit optimistic. Not saying it is bad or anything. But we have to think realistically, though. First of all, Hawes isn't better than Miller...yet. Miller is still the better passer/rebounder and probably shooter as well. Hawes is better than Miller in post scoring. Which Miller doesn't virtually have in his offensive arsenal.
If you are basing several pre-season games to conclude to a conclusion of a player, you will be disappointed most of the time. What Hawes did in the pre-season is great and all, (Rockets/Thunder games) he has to show it in the regular season. He needs to put more defensive intensity as well. He hasn't really put THAT much of defensive pressure.
But I do believe that Hawes will do really well for that starting center position (5 games) though. He might put up a double double or at least 8-9ish rebounds and 13-15ish points and 3ish assists...Which is great IMO.

What the KINGS need to do is play both Miller and Hawes together. When C. Webb was out with his knee injury and Divac and Miller were the two BIGS for the KINGS, the KINGS had one of the best records in the league. I think Miller and Hawes combo can be like a Divac and Miller combo and together they can present more matchup problems for other teams then Miller and Moore. Offensively Hawes is way better then Moore. Sure Moore plays better 'D' then Hawes but not that much better I don't think. When was the last time Moore grabbed 16 rebounds or scored 25 points? Moore eating up time on the court over Hawes will serve the KINGS no good in the long run. The sooner the KINGS can develop Hawes and Thompson the sooner we can start talking play-offs again.

That's the big conundrum, I think. Mikki is a good defender, rotates well, and generally picks his spots nicely. But he negates all of his good defense with an unbelievable deficiency in rebounding. Partly because of his crusty hands, partly because he gets pushed around, and partly because he doesn't care about boxing out, but Mikki is a sucky rebounder.
I honestly think our best team this year will be Beno/Martin/Salmons/Hawes/Miller. I do wonder how Hawes will guard the athletic 4s of the NBA like Amare, Boozer, Brand and Bosh though.
