See that's the worst thing you can do IMO. Competition for minutes is good but seriously, it only goes so far. You like to say these guys aren't babies or whatever but they need some kind of assurance as to their role. Once again, that just screams no dedication or consistency. Just keep watching, if things continue this way Theus is going to get himself into some murky waters with his players too. Petrie needs to help ease the burden, open it up a bit from a roster standpoint, it has to be suffocating to try and figure how to manage this many bodies in differing stages of their careers in terms of role and minutes. I thought it would ease up with Artest not splitting time at the 4, but I guess we still had too many bodies regardless. I think I remember bringing that up during the offseason actually.

I'm not talking about having this go on for the whole season necessarily. I think that if Jason can just stay focused, he can consistently get minutes over Mikki. He just has to earn them first, and it won't be that hard for him. He definitely has the talent to do it. And now that Spencer is starting, it'll probably be even easier for Jason to get minutes because Mikki won't have the edge over him of being a starter.

How does one "earn" them in your view? He's already putting up better numbers than Mikki Moore as a starter and that was out of position too.

I would say reducing his mistakes over all a little, but mostly just continuing to do what he does. He's on the right track, you just can't give it to him right away. He's got to keep it up for a bit. You just have to be a little patient.
