Douby and Shelden

Post#1 » by sacking101 » Sat Jan 3, 2009 10:39 pm

The sacbee was talking about moving these guys but i don't think any team will want them. We are obviously not going to resign either of them this summer so I would trade either of them for second rounders. You guys think a trade is possible maybe packaged with miller even?

Well, they are also expiring contracts, and Shelden is a fairly sizable one so they have that going for them. I still really would like to see Shelden become our starter for awhile. He'd put up 10 and 10 and garner some attention I'd bet. Oh well, we've got Mikki Moore to think about *sigh*.

i would much rather see jason start over mikki. As for shelden and douby seeing either of them traded would make my day. Unless we are looking to make a run at free agents this summer and not 2010 then we should keep their expirings.

I think Douby will be used as filler as part or a Miller or Thomas or Moore trade. If not I don't really care what we get for him, I would like to just see him traded at least for his sake. As far as Sheldon goes I would like to see the Kings pick up his option at 4million and give him some damn playing time. How are we going to make a good decision on his future if he never gets playing time? If he works out then we got out 3 or 4 th big, if he doesn't work out then we let him walk after 2009.

Well the option was already declined and for what he's worth to us he is not worth that much. I doubt he is to any other team since he hasn't even played much so maybe we re-sign him for cheap, who knows. I am sure another team steps in and offers some of their MLE for him tough.

I think there would have to be at least something of a market for Douby & Shelden for the mire fact that they're expiring contracts, whether that translates into anything that would mean anything for Sacramento remains to be seen.

I forgot who it was that was saying how god Douby was going to be, well, we skipped on Rajon Rondo, Leon Powe, Daniel Gibson, hell, even Marcus Williams might have been better if we picked him up, he is just at the wrong place at the wrong time. But yea the Kings don't draft very well....

^Don't be to upset about the kings drafting. I would say that douby is no doubt the worst pick of petrie's career, but he also got martin in the late 20's, garcia was near the end, I wished he had moved up and gotten granger or warrick when it happened, but he didn't and man do I wish he had for granger, who was somewhere around 16 or 17 and garcia was 23ish. Bummer, but that was still a great pick. hawes was a nice pick, and thompson has turned out well so far.

That is an absurd statement.
