I would of liked to see Shelden get more of an oppurtunity - once again he didn't get enough of a chance, he deserves one too because of his defense, rebounding, hustle, toughness being above-average, and his jumpshot isn't bad. Then again, maybe my guy Cedric Simmons will be able to his fair shot in the NBA. Not quite going to expect that though.

Sooner or later, were going to have to get that defensive big man off the bench (hell, even another one that differs a bit).

Bobby Brown I thought we were happy with, and almost everytime I saw him (haven't watched the team as much this year), he did well.

McCants is a pretty nicescorer and shooter, but not decent anywhere else.

Not sure what to think of this team in terms of working to get balanced and consistent - but obviously that's not the case because were in full rebuilding mode... have to take a step back to go foward.

Pretty much a random, questionable as hell team outside of Kevin/Hawes/Thompson/Garcia. The rest are question marks and certainties to be gone later on, more of the latter.

People have to take into account Greene's going to add some mass by his 3rd, 4th year in the league. Greene's definitely not a SG other than in short spurts, he's either a SF (starting or not) or combo speciality foward off the bench. He's around 6'10" and 220-220+ right now.

Magic's 6'8"/6'9" and didn't guard the quicker, top wing players (I include PGs there), Michael Cooper, Byron Scott, Jamaal Wilkes (I think) did that. Aside from not being able to have that responsibility because of the offense, Magic didn't have the quickness.

Magic was a PG, but only offensively. Ballings is right.

As for the deal--meh, all right. If Brown isn't in our future plans, I have no problems with it, even if it is purely to save money.

Good luck with Shad. Once we (MN) acquired Al Jefferson his days were numbered. I have always envisioned him having more success on a run-and-gun team like Phoenix that emphasizes scoring over defense.

Acquiring McCants is a decent, low-risk move by the Kings.

Last year, coming off micro-fracture surgery, he averaged 15 PPG and shot 3P% over 40%, and that was coming off the bench. MIN obviously wasn't going to get that out of him again, but maybe a change of scenery will help? He obviously has talent, and he works hard off the court. If he comes back, you've got his Bird Rights and can probably sign him pretty cheaply. He'll be playing for a contract, so I would expect a tremendous amount of effort. If he doesn't come back, you don't make him a qualifying offer, and he still becomes valuable salary relief.

theGreatRC wrote:Congrats on McCants; he used to be one of my favorite players. Key words 'used to'.

After KG left, he developed a huge attitude and his ego went through the roof and everyone could see it. He would try to finish fast breaks even if it was 3 on 1 and instead of passing it to Al, he would take contested three-pointers. His defense is also very physical; he likes to foul and pretend he didn't do anything ala Sheed Wallace.

I think this trade will help him realize he isn't a star and that he will try to do everything he can to establish himself as a team player and maybe fit in your system. He is a very skilled offensive player and can score from anywhere..I think you guys will enjoy him for the first few months, or at least until his attitude starts showing up when Kevin Martin is getting the ball more than he is.

Calvin Booth barely say PT so I can't say anythng about him.

Yeah..was never at all fond of McCants. He likes to score and that's about all there is.

Minny fan here.

McCants's problems are over exaggerated. A lot of Minny fans will say they hate his guts, but he was my favorite player last year. This year he has been victim to poor shooting and inconsistent minutes.

I think he could thrive in a new situation, or he will collapse. I really hope to see him do well in a Kings jersey because he is an exciting player when he plays well.
