Totally agree. Kings are obviously rebuilding, and a coach needs to be given a chance to help build the kings backup.
Sometimes you just have to look yourself in the mirror and say....Tyreke Evans.
That just happened.

Hey let's not Knock Pitino here. He's a helluva coach, but I agree not the Kings best FIT. There's a difference. You don't have to be a horrible coach to be a less than steallar fit.

Here's something new http://basketball.realgm.com/src_wireta ... ie_jordan/

The kings are interviewing Eddie Jordan which is music to my ears he's been here before is familiar with our offense and say what you want, but the guy did a great job with the Wizzards taking them to the playoffs consistently.

You know with Jordan and Westphal coming in I wouldn't if the search stopped with either of them. They are easily the two best choices IMO out of the ones that have been rumored to have a shot at the position.

Westphal is interesting. It's weird that he hasn't been a head coach for so long though. You'd think there was a reason for that--like with Del Harris.

Wow, I never really looked into what Westphail was doing after he left the suns...

In 1992 he became the head coach of the Phoenix Suns. For several years prior, he was an assistant coach with the Suns under head coach Cotton Fitzsimmons. With players such as Kevin Johnson, Dan Majerle, Richard Dumas, and the newly-acquired Charles Barkley and Danny Ainge, the Suns made it to the Finals in Westphal's first season as a coach, but eventually lost to the Chicago Bulls in six games. Coincidentally, Game 3 between the two teams went to triple overtime (the Suns won the game) and is considered one of the greatest games ever played.

While the Suns made the playoffs during each of Westphal's seasons as coach, they did not return to the finals, and Westphal was replaced during the 1995-1996 season. He served as an assistant coach for a high school team in Arizona for two years before he returned to the NBA as a coach with the SuperSonics for the 1998-1999 season. He coached in Seattle until he was fired during the 2000-01 season. He returned to the college ranks in the fall of 2001 at Pepperdine. At Pepperdine, Westphal lead the team to NCAA Tournament in his first season, but after a 7-20 season in 2005-2006, Westphal was fired from the Pepperdine head coaching job on March 15, 2006.

On June 28, 2007, the Dallas Mavericks announced they had signed Westphal as an assistant coach under Avery Johnson.

When Johnson was replaced by Rick Carlisle, Westphal left coaching to become executive vice-president of basketball operations (under Donnie Nelson) for the Mavericks on October 2, 2008.[2]

An ASSISTANT coach for a high school team?! I hope that was his son's or daughter's team :P
