Now that the lottery is done and the off season is rolling, it's a good time to put out a reminder about some of the basic "rules of the road" for posting on the Kings board.

1. Before starting a new thread, please look at existing threads to see if the idea/topic you want to discuss is already being discussed. This is not some evil ploy by us to limit your ability to talk about Kings basketball. On the contrary, we want full, rich conversations about Kings-related topics and the best way to do that is to make sure there are not multiple, fragmented discussions spread across multiple threads on similar topics. If we believe a thread you start duplicates an existing thread, we will lock or merge at our own discretion.

2. Fantasy trades need to stay in Fantasy Land. Please carefully review your trade ideas before posting them to make sure they have a legitimate chance of working under the CBA, that all players involved CAN be traded, and that there is some debatable reason why the teams involved (not just the Kings) would consider the idea. Also, if you are posting a trade idea, you MUST provide some sort of discussion in your initial post to explain why you think it is worth debating...that means, no threads with just a title of "B-Jax for LBJ" and a post of "What do you think". Trade threads that don't follow this risk being locked.

3. Treat others with respect. With the team in the dumps as it is, it is easy for everyone to be rather irritable when it comes to discussing the Kings. Everyone will have ideas on how to improve the team, and I can guarantee than people are going to find flaws with those ideas. This board is here to debate the ideas, NOT to berate or insult the person who brings up the idea. We do not tolerate personal attacks (that includes generalized attacks made against the fan bases of other teams). Personal attacks, flaming, baiting people into arguments or other disruptions of thread (ie, engaging in pointless arguments without giving any indication that you are paying attention to the ideas presented by others) are reasons for us to warn, suspend, or ban posters.

That's pretty much it. This is going to be a very interesting summer. If we all just keep the basic rules in mind, we should be able to get through the summer without ICMTM, mitch or me having to be "cops" instead of being the posters we like to be.
This space needs to be filled with a new sig...but I'm too lazy to make one.
