Channing Frye?
If he comes for about 9 million over 2 years I don't think he would be a bad pickup as a backup big

Re: Channing Frye?
I highly doubt it.
It is known that he does not like Sacramento for a while. And besides, his style of play, while considering the team's direction isn't really great IMO.

^Hahaha, minute detail. Plus he isn't the exact mold of a body-banger that we would look for.

Re: Channing Frye?
My nightmare is such a scenario. Literally a one dimensional jumpshooting big. A good one, but provides NOTHING else. Think Brad Miller without the passing. No thanks.

Re: Channing Frye?
NO THANKS! Hopefully this doesn't happen. I'm pretty sure Petrie is really looking to add a big body to help out defensively and bring some more toughness to the team. Frye just doesn't make sense in that regard.
can we just get a new arena already...

Re: Channing Frye?
I think we would take Diogu for less than $3mil over Frye at $4.5mil for an offensive backup. I don't know who we would want as a defensive backup, I think that's why we drafted Brockman. I think Rodriguez and the cheapest guys available as the 11/12/13 guys. I think we will keep Simmons as one because of his shotblocking at least in practice.
I see us spending our money on one pretty complete big not a defensive or offensive guy maybe Kleiza he is 6'8" and only plays off the bench because of Melo. I think he and Diogu are very similar although I have seen Kleiza hit 1 game winner for the bronze winning Lithuanian team in the Olympics. I think he adds clutchness and mental toughness to the bigs a little more than Diogu.
If you want to be a contender you need address the clutchness problem that was very severe last year with all the youth. Which was why we added Evans and the only other clutch G BJax likely won't be back so we have to add another clutch role player or 2 so we can squeak out close ones.
